You'll love the Big Mac sandwich from this recipe, I promise! Just like the original and maybe even better - with two patties, cheese and the legendary sauce.

The OptiGrill is used twice in the Big Mac Sandwich recipe: first it grills the beef patties, then it grills the sandwiches and melts the cheese. Not only visually a real highlight!
What you need for 4 Big Mac sandwiches:
For the patties
- 600 g ground beef
- salt
- pepper
For the sandwiches
- 12 slices of toast (small)
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 gherkins (small)
- ½ iceberg lettuce (small)
For the Big Mac sauce
- 2 tbsp. yogurt
- 3 tbsp. French dressing
- 4 tsp. ketchup
- 2 tsp. mustard
- 1 onion
How to make it:
Cut 1 onion into fine pieces.
In a bowl, mix the onion with 2 tsp mustard, 3 tbsp French dressing, 2 tbsp yogurt and 4 tsp ketchup.
Cut 4 small gherkins into thin slices.
Wash and chop ½ small iceberg lettuce.
Preheat the OptiGrill in the burger program. Optionally, set the Elite models to Boost mode.
Season 600 g of minced meat with salt and pepper.
Form a total of 8 rectangular patties. They should be about the size of the toast slices.
Once the OptiGrill is hot, place the first 4 patties on the contact grill and start the grilling process.
Grill the meat until the end of orange. Remove the patties from the grill and repeat the grilling process with the other 4 patties.
Turn off the OptiGrill and wipe the lower grill plate a little.
Spread about 1 tablespoon of the Big Mac sauce on each of the first 4 slices of toast.
Top with half of the iceberg lettuce.
Place 1 slice of cheddar cheese and 1 patty on each.
Place a second slice of toast on top of the patty and spread 1 tablespoon of the sauce on each again.
Spread the rest of the iceberg lettuce and pickles on top.
Place 1 patty on top of each.
Spread the last 4 slices of toast with the rest of the sauce and place them on top of the top pattie, sauce side down.
Preheat the OptiGrill in the sandwich program. (You can also start this before placing the sandwiches).
Once the OptiGrill is heated, place the sandwiches on the contact grill.
Close the lid and press it slightly.
Grill the Big Mac sandwiches to the yellow stage.
Cut the sandwiches diagonally to serve.
