My house is chaos. My life is chaos. I'm a grandma with not much energy. I work on something, then take a break as needed. It takes me much longer now to do things. I am determined to keep going, though. Ty for the motivation. :)

I cant ever do this. IF I make it to my 50s+ I am determined to NEVER be inactive. It freaks me out to know people refuse to get up and do stuff because they don't feel like it. I get tired but i push through. It's how the body works. you get tired and you rest, you'll destroy your body. You constantly move, you dont become immobile.

I can relate. I have injuries that cause chronic pain that is resistant to any pain treatment, so I have to move or I stiffen up, but going for long periods of time causes pain flare-up that put me out of commition the next day. So, I've had to experiment alot to come up with routines throughout the day that keep me moving, but also allow small periods of rest. And, having a daily stretching routine helps keep the stiffness down some as well. While it's true what they say...move It or lose it...too much of even a good thing can be too much. You can drink too much water, breathe too much oxygen...yes, that's true. Same with rest and exercise. Both are vital. Too little can harm you. But so can too much. What's too much for one person is not the same as for another. Oh, and chronic fatigue is another issue for me. But, through quite a few years of trying and failing at coming up with something that works for me, I now have somewhat of a series of routines-housework and other things-that allow me to get more done, move around, and not kill myself doing it. It takes really looking at your situation objectively and realistically, and asking yourself can you maybe push yourself just a little bit beyond what you think you can...even if it's 5 minutes extra each day? Do that for a few weeks in addition to your normal routines...then see if you can increase it by 5 minutes? Or, do you need to stick with that 5 minutes a little bit longer in order to get your mind and body used to it? Also, is there something nutritionally lacking that your body needs? I know it may be more complex than that, but I do believe you can accomplish more...it might just take some time to figure outa flow that works for you. And it might mean pushing yourself just a little bit more than what you think you can handle. Don't push yourself to a crazy amount more...just a little at a time, to rebuild stamina. Does that make sense? I just can't stand to hear people say they can never slow down, and you should never rest. While our bodies are capable of doing way more than we realize alot of the time, we were not designed to move 24/7. We were designed to work and rest and play...and for a healthy balance between the 3. When one is too much, it throws the other 2 out of whack and harms our immune system. I just know now, my normal is a slower pace than before, but I'm still moving and doing things I need to do and things I want to do.

The organized mum is British as the name suggests. Houses in Britain are much smaller than the US and especially the Phoenix area which are even larger than a lot of the US. I rotate every other day between the upstairs and the main floor when I sweep.

She's also insanely rich so that's a huge difference. Most mothers aren't this rich so their houses are nowhere near that big. (and please dont say 'that isnt rich.' owning or renting a large house is rich compared to living in a one bedroom, a motel room or on the streets like the majority of younger people today)

The more you do this routine, the easier it gets. You can make it work for you. If you don’t get to a task or a room. You are back in there the next week I followed this routine does really work. I have followed this for years.

I follow Gemma’s method for some months now and it’s been incredible. Recently I started following her guided cleaning sessions from RockTheHouseWork and it’s been a game changer. I’m very easily sidetracked so these sessions have helped me a lot.

Gabbi they say it is good not to make your bed after you get out of it, wait and let it air out make it later. So I just throw the covers back , and a few hours later straighten it up. I think everyone needs to do their own cleaning routines. Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and yours. Always, a thumbs up from me, here in west central Ohio.

I've been trying this method for about a month now after 22 years of following the Flylady. It's definitely hard to change things in your brain lol. To me it's a lot like Flylady except you're doing a zone a day instead of a zone a week. The 8 week cycle of level three seemed to long for me. So what I do is I have 4 zones, kitchen, living room/dining room (mine are open like yours and it's easier to put it with the living room), bedroom, bath/Laundry rooms. These level 2 jobs are my Monday through Thursday. Then I rotate the Friday focus on a 4 week cycle concentrating on each zone for a deeper (level 3) clean. I kept the AM and PM routines that I love and that work for me as level one. Hope this all makes sense lol. Give it a full month try and definitely adapt it! I only mop and vacuum once a week and that's enough for my house lol. Hope you do another update video so we know what you think after a month.

Interesting seeing a new cleaning routine. My space is little so I could do everything in one day if I was younger. I’m older now so the different task daily might work for me now.

Did I miss something on daily chores? Shouldn't wash the dishes, wipe off counters and stove and mop or sweep the kiichen be daily? I don't mop every day, but I have to wash the dishes and clean the counters, stove and sink. AND that alone would take 30 minutes.

I may have missed something but when do you clean the kitchen each day. It sounds like the Mum method may be for a much smaller house too. I have a small ranch-style house and it may work better for me. Thanks for trying all these methods for us.

Just trolling here while browsing TOMM videos (starting my second week) lol. Level 1 tasks for the kitchen, I believe are not included (i.e. dishes), because it's meant to be assumed that you do them as you go anyway...I like to do basic counter top cleaning and sweeping and dishes as I cook and as I do other small one minute household tasks. But you can always add any of those tasks to one of your levels if you feel you need to include it. You schedultasks according to your own household needs. The schedules are a guide to how to break jobs and tasks down and not the engraved in stone rule. Hooe that helps :)

I've never had kids, but I can't imagine this routine working for anyone who also works outside the home. You'd basically be working 16+ hours a day.

Which of all the methods do you think is best for a single working (I wk a lot) Mom with ADHD
@lovefortruth3414

I've never been diagnosed, but I definitely have ADHD tendencies, plus physical problems that are resistant to pain treatment (other than movement followed by frequent breaks in between. Personally, when I saw a video showing the schedule prontouts along with the content creator's personal modifications to the schedules, my brain went, "That's it"! I am a hot mess and the mess in my house reflects that. I'm on my second week, and I can tell you, the schedules and the tips from Gemma Bray and some of the others who gollow her system, seriously work with my scattered brain thinking and the way my bidy physically works best. But you will only know for sure if you try it. I'm giving it a month to see for sure if it seems like something I can stivk to, but I don't thinkvI'll need that month. Just try it and see.
