I don't think you can underestimate how profound your work is. I grew up in Scotland, I've never set foot anywhere else. But when you bring this information to my attention, it brings back childhood memories and recontextualises them. Like the spirit of our ancestors was always directing me in subtle ways. For example, the relation of Caledon to a concealing forest, reminds of the amount of times I'd use such a motif for creative writing purposes in school. And then getting a detailed picture of our landscape from the history of it all, details of Kings I was never taught.

100%. That’s exactly what Merlin symbolises. He is the Higher Self. He exists beyond space and time and through this sees everything before it has happened. He abandons Arthur when he’s needed most to force Arthur’s transformation/metamorphosis through the dark night of the soul. Uther’s hubris meant he thought he was greater than Merlin and his hubris/belief in his lower self led to his own death (symbolised by the Age of Man - mankind’s absolute belief in self and amnesia/rejection of “god” or a superior Self). Arthur’s humility allowed him to access Merlin’s wisdom (his Higher Self) and be guided by it. Arthur’s fate was to Self-Realise and slay the sins of his father (Mordrid). Once achieved, he was ready to move on to the next plane of existence (bodily death and the freeing of the soul from the body).

in the western mystery tradition if youve attained the status of immortal then youve attained spiritual illumination (like the eastern idea of enlightenment or buddhahood, escaping samsara or your own maya aka illusion) so he wouldve been a great esotericist, mystic, magician, druid certainly a chief of wizards if he is the immortal merlin. great role model for any westerners on the spiritual path not unlike padmasambhava of the eastern (particularly of the tibetan) tradition (also a great wizard) great video friend keep it up.

I believe Emrys Wledig aka Ambrose Aurelianus, is indeed, an historical figure and the actual "king" Arthur. He is the one who fought Aella, one of the saxon leaders, and Emrys defeated Aella in the year 500 A.D in the famous Battle of Badon Hill. So, taking what you said, they surely took the historical Emrys, and bathed him with god-like elements, which originally belongs to a god.

To all those complaining about the pronunciation within the video give the fellow a break, words in Celtic languages (e.g. Welsh, Gaelic etc) are very hard to say due to the fact that letter sounds in said cls being quite different to those in the traditional English alphabet. If you should take umbridge at all take it with how he pronounces places that still exist, as someone who lives relatively close to there I can 100% say the l in Malmesbury is pronounced as an r and not an l

I haven't listened through this video in a while, but what is the pronunciation that is incorrect? I think if I remember I read out a piece in middle Welsh and so that may not be entirely correct, but I have studied Welsh and though I am not fluent I am able to pronounce the language. My Scottish Gaelic is B2 level and I study daily. However, I do not always pronounce names in a pure modern Gaelic pronunciation. Often because I am using Old Gaelic Pronunciation. Still, it would be helpful to know what is incorrect here or thought to be, so I can improve it.

Two excellent books in English written by an American at the beginning of the 20 century using the pseudonym Adiramled goes into great detail about the alchemical process which is essentially about unifying opposing énergies in a 'chemical wedding'. The white and the red can represent fire and water as well as the two elements essential to this 'wedding'. The fruit of this union is sometimes.characterised as Christ. The author uses the tarot as well as the 22 letters of the Jewish alphabet as supports for his exposition. For anyone interested in alchemy ∆ :-)

Is there any chance that the references to Ambrose could be a euphemism for a ceremonial beverage that brings initiates into contact with the spirits or the ancestors or the realm of magic. Consider the use of soma in Bactria and in the Vedic texts, or the Kykeon used at the temple of eleusys. Could Ambrose be a reference to a visionary medicine used for magical training? In many cultures these substances were referred to as gods that humans can ingest.

the tv movie Merlin with Sam Neal; very similar story. Ambrosia is the "nanny" who raises him. Queen Maab is the demon who is vexing her. You have Ambrosia as a man who comes from a nun. Merlin makes do when Uther impregnates one of his soldiers wives and has a son. Merlin names him Arthur and adopts the child and he becomes king. Its a 4 hour movie. Very accurate it seems and my personal favorite. There was a sequel; Merlin's Apprentice thats 2 x 2 hour movies and resolves the entire myth of Camelot. I cried at the end! Yall should check it out.

He is known as "the horned god"... though it is antlers he is shown with. But in truth i have not worked with him much or taken time to learn much on him specifically. I cannot speak for how often he was mention in the mythos.

Merlin Emrys was the son of Aurelius. Aurelius' wife was Arthur of Dyfedd sister, Niniane. Merlin of Emrys was Arthur of Dyfedd 's nephew. He was also Aedan MacGabran's cousin. He was appointed guardian of Arthur MacAedan of Dalriada. Before Emry of Powys, the 'Merlin' was Talesin the Bard. 'Merlin' was a title. In compiling the work 'History of the Kings of Britain', Geoffrey of Monmouth was commissioned & funded by Robert the Norman, Earl of Gloucester, with an express requirement to cement High King Arthur into the English tradition, even though, being Scottish, he did not feature at all in the 'Anglo-Saxon Chronicle of England. And so, Geoffrey's strategic restyling of King Aedan, the new & very convenient fictional character of Uther (Terrible) Pentagon was introduced into a supposed historical account. The next significant mention of Uther Pendragon did not occur for more than 300 years, when quite suddenly, he had a second useful purpose for yet another dynasty. From 1154, the Norman kings had given way to the House of Plantagenet in England & since this house was a junior off-shoot of the royal Pict-sidhe of Anjou. Their heritage was seemingly on a firm enough footing--at least as far as they were concerned, even if the senior Anjou branch did not agree. However, in 1485 the Plantagenets were usurped by the son of the Earl of Richmond, who as King Henry VIII, established the new reigning House of Tudor. The problem was that, although having gained the throne of England from Richard III by might of his sword at the Battle of Bosworth Field, Henry's only justification for kingship extended via his mother, through 4 generations to a son of Edward III Plantagenet (1327-77), & there were many contenders with far less tenuous claims. So, 2 plans had been actioned some years before to cement a better legacy for the Tudors, whose family were originally from Wales. 1st-Henry's English mother Margarwt Beaufort of Somerset, had commissioned a notorious Warwickshire rogue called Thomas Mallory to write up a new version of the tales of King Arthur. Henry had set up plan 2 by making substantial financial & land grants to a certain Welshman called Richard of Mostyn. Henry required a new specially concocted family genealogy--a comprehensive chart which showed his descent from the ancient Kings of Wales, a table so stirring that it would outstrip the heritage of rhe House of Plantagenet. In 1485 the piece that he wrote called ' Morte de Arthur' was published in London by William of Caxton. By that time the extensive Welsh family tree had also been prepared, a thoroughly spurious set of documents, which are still tactically used by some today. They are known as the 'Mostyn Manuscripts'. They are surrounded by invention on all sides, embracing every impressive name in the book, including King Arthur & th÷ totally fictional Uther Pendragon. Despite the deceitful nature of this document, it's held in high regard by many who strive to keep all eyes away from the historical Arthur of Scots Dalriada. They prefer, for the sake of regional tourism or other vested interests, to maintain his contrived tradition in southwest England or Wales. Another chart appeared in 1604 with Uther Pendragon in a prime position as the son of a Welsh king Constantine the Blessed (433AD) & cousin of Emyr Llydaw, Prince of the Bretons. Though this was purposely fabricated, it has been used on many occasions because it seemingly emanated from a source of high authority. The chart was issued in a form of a book by a cleric styled 'King's Advocate'. However, the public was not told that it was actually commissioned by the late Queen Elizabeth I Tudor's Secretary of State, Sir Robert Cecil, Earl of Salisbury. (For a more extensive study of history, read the works of Laurence Gardner).

Consistent introduction into the oral tradition of Myrddin. Like with the Christian gospel, almost everyone has heard the story of the struggling wyrms, symbolizing Welsh and Saxon dominion - but few gather that is not just meant to illustrate a bygone historical moment, e.g. *the transition from Roman colonization to Romano-British emancipation* , but evoking *a lasting mission of Celtic Britain* to defend the Isles from usurpation, not just by revolting Saxon auxillaries - the German element in English society - but also by Danish (Northumbria), Viking (e.g. Clan MacDonald from the Hebrids) and Norman (the entire English and Irish Peerage) culture and identity - as during the time of Geoffrey of Monmouth in the 12th century when the Plantagenets were striving for an Angevin Empire. Unlike English and Ulster 'enlightened', modern nationalism this isn't about ethnicity or chauvinism over the 'uncivilized', but about *the cultivation of Celtic tradition* which almost alone - as *the heirs of psychologically profound African and Greek monasticism* - are the living inspiration of European Christianity and learning (e.g. *Alan of Lille* , John of Salisbury), compared to the often politicized, petty and brutal legalism of Rome (e.g. the conversion of continental Saxons by the Carolingian sword). The suggestion of interpreting what the Hellenistic Romans called 'Mercury' into the familar tale of the serpents is quite appreciated as I had noted recently a demonstrable connection between the Nubian Anubis, his worship within local Roman legions or auxillaries to the point of the tradition of kynokephalic (dogheaded) Saint Christopher ('The Christianisation of Hermanubis' 2013) - that is a local Pagan tradition has been continuosly preserved from Roman imperial, cultural policy (Theodosius 391), likely for good reasons - it is therefore plausible that Your intution upon the origin of orthodox 'caduceus', the 'wand of Hermes' will eventually be verified. It would be interesting if You were to stumble upon an earlier, _Celtic_ incarnation of the Hellenistic tradition as chtonic serpents had been purged from Ionic narration (Apollo seizing Delphi) and people know little of Iron Age Celtic and Gaelic tradition (the latter with actual origins in the Middle East, just as it's tales of the 'Tuatha Dé Danann' - like Inanna became the Greek Aphrodite and Roman Venus, Ningishzida appears to be a Sumerian origin, here).

I want to thank you for posting this and the other videos. It helps me to learn about my Celtic spiritual heritage. I never knew about this before the 1990s as I was raised by Germans Christians. However I never felt as if I fit in. Now I know why. I met my birth sister and as it turns out, the majority of my heritage is Scots-Irish, some Gaul, Insular Celt, I have some German blood, probably Anglo-Saxon,. It's not like my adopted parents lied about what they knew of my background--they were as honest as their knowledge permitted them to be. It's was that I felt out of place--no place was quite right til I started learning of the Celts and the old, Pagan religion. You are a great help in this and I will be watching more of your videos. Thank you again!

Actually the Welsh stories are based on people and events in the north of England. Carlisle is on the border with Scotland and the Caledonian forest used to extend further south than its modern boundaries. The battle in which Merlin went bad is thought to be in the border region so it's not a stretch to think he fled north into the Caledonian forests. I think the issue of "Welsh" sources is that most people don't realise the stories are about the old Celtic kingdoms of Northern England i.e. Rheged. Even to this day although we are English, the northern counties display genetic continuity with these dark age Celtic kingdoms.
