Cold War was the last CoD to have the map voting system. If you get passed the SBMM and tryhards, Cold War is a solid game and the best CoD in years imo. It has the classic CoD feel and the old prestige system as well.

Was my junior year in high school, even the popular kids were playing this game and oddly enough me being good at it got me popular in high school haha.

"I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them." The original MW2, Battlefield Bad Company 2 (the best Battlefield)... good fucking God, those truly were the good old days. I'm in my late 20s now and gaming feels alien to me. Not just because growing up sucks and being an adult is hard - but also because gaming has changed so much. I look at Call of Duty now and it's just so devoid of culture and ingenuity.

The pros ban most of the cheesey stuff in the game (about 90% of it tbh). 98% of the community is non competitive watchers, if anything over the passed 3 years warzone has morphed the game more than professionals. The way I see it is cod has shot itself in the foot by having a successful recipe and trying to steal the market from other games. Advanced warfare tried to copy titan fall, Bo3 tried to copy overwatch with specialist abilities. WW2 with large scale modes with AI like battlefield. Bo4 was actually probably catered to professionals I agree there. And then came the battle royale era where they copied every successful strategy for BRs until multiplayer was an after thought to warzone. And finally DMZ was an attempt to copy escape from tarkov. As soon as cod stops trying to steal the hot new game on the markets big feature and just focuses on being cod it'll thrive again. The evidence is these OG games getting flooded with fans who the remaining community said was long gone and not coming back

@@mkwsoxfan I doubt cod is ever going to "thrive" again, I agree though they need to stop trying to be like other games, that's for sure. BUT if they were listening to the majority of the player base they would already know that and already be worknig on it, but they aren't. Also I mistakenly said "Pro players" when in reality I meant the large streamers/content creators that mainly play WZ/DMZ etc etc.

It’s all about micro transactions and charging you for everything they possibly can.

Nostalgia holds this game up in a lot of ways. I don’t think people realized how broken and unbalanced this game actually was, but we didn’t care since it was 2009 and we were with da BOIZ

Literally any gun. Wether it was stock etc was a blast 2 play. So satisfying

The ACR with digital Camo was my favorite I think. I loved the ak47 with iron sights. Akimbo models. I got a fucking nuke on skid row with the rpd. You could do anything in this game and have FUN.

A big part of that is due to the simple attachment system. The guns are built functional with few major changes in regards to the handful of attachments. One thing I dislike about the current COD is how disorganized it is with its attachments. Quality does not equal quantity.

probably because the gun didn't really have any dynamic abilities, like no recoil no real physics like they do today.

I have to order a new headset, controller, and hard drive to hold the map packs. Can't wait to get it and play like old times

@@ciaranoreilly55 I would just get the series s. Tbh with you the old cods play well. For a 2009 game MW2 is running just as if its 2009 again other than some hacking, but not to bad at all and BO1 is also running great. Input lag is there, but not bad at all. It’s certainly worth it if you enjoy these older cods. This very much takes me back to those years.

@@daben1074 thanks for the advice my man. I don’t really follow xbox as I’ve always been PS I didn’t realise there was a cheaper alternative to newer consoles so I’ll pick up that. I was looking at a refurbished xbox one that was working out at 220 with a controller so 299 for a new console is a no brainer, appreciate the advice!

If there was sbmm it was the most tiniest amount imaginable because, even as someone who was never very good back in the day, I never felt like I was getting absolutely FUCKED just because I had 2 or 3 good games in a row.

@@rjm474 I had the same issue, what fixed it for me was changing the preset on the actual TV to 'game', most TV's will have it or something similar, completely fixed it for me no input lag whatsoever

@@cleeretv8195 yeah that can for sure help! mine is always set to game so that wasn't my issue, I still had major input lag while my tv was on the game setting, Until I changed my resolution, I also updated my controller to the latest firmware which may have helped as well..

I’m gonna try this. First time seeing someone give a legit suggestion for fixing this input lag. Thanks man!

MW2 takes it for the best core experience especially for its time. Black op 2 was so great because its the first one to implement a lot of modern features and promote the competitive side of COD to get it where it is today.

Good thing you have a chance to try it now! I never left cod4, mw2, or mw3 until they got ruined by cheaters. The Treyarch games, I only played for zombies. Then stopped playing until about 2017 a little after MWR came out.

When you’re young; you don’t care about the issues and problems, only the fun aspects. As you get older you’ll notice these problems more, especially if you’re the one spending money on the product.

But that's what made Mw2 great nothing was Balanced the other cods have shotguns nerfed and a pistol is just as powerful as a shotgun was really isn't realistic on Mw2 a shotgun is way more powerful than a pistol. I love how in Mw2 you can grab a overpowered AA12 with extended mags and destroy.
