The original oval - a short tour on Karen's Little Railway - 7 1/4 inch minimal gauge garden railway

All aboard our newly completed 'Minx' battery-electric locomotive for a test drive and tour around the flat section of Karen's Little Railway - a simple oval with a single siding leading to the engine shed. This is a journey around what was the original route. Featuring a bridge built in the local style, and showing where the 'golden spike' was fixed to the final sleeper which completed the oval.

That is a very nice Railway that you have there. May I ask what your rail is and where did you find the chairs for the rail. more to the point, Some details about your track, points and crossover. Thank you. And I can hear and understand every word of your narration.

Rail is 30x12mm mild steel flat bar from the local steel stockholder. Chairs are from PNP Railways and sleepers 3x2 inch timber. There are more details about how we built the track, points and crossings on our website at www.karenslittlerailway.co.uk/construction.php

Hi, it’s me again. That’s great information, and very well done. You know, you can build a simple rail conditioner that can be dragged behind your loco to round that sharped edge on your flat bar. It will give you more reason to run your wonderful train. Thank you
