I think gear sounds are the most interesting. Such as Cheeseburger, Leland the Turtle and Pizza! I also wondered where some short music loops came from like the Silly Guitar and the Monster Mash Potion.

mistakes, clarifications, etc: *04/27/2021:* bass.wav was actually from a CD called Datafile 3 by Zero-G (released in 1992) however, roblox didn't take it from there, as the March 2007 client had A1 Free Sound Effects as the copyright holder for all the sounds that came from that site. *06/21/2021:* the SOURCEBlox team // RRS actually found out that the HalloweenThunder sound came from a stock site called "Hollywoodedge", and not the Halloween Sounds CD that I thought it was from.

Not only did you say "such things" instead of "such places", but you also didn't even give examples for such "things". If you're going to criticize someone's grammar, at least do some sort of proofreading before posting it. I legit remember the “Ouch” sound at 2:17 from this Roblox rip-off back in the day called “Blocksworld” but in much higher quality. Didn’t know it was on Roblox too.

button.wav comes from Windows 2000 and Windows ME, possibly Windows 98 or 98 SE as well. on Windows 2000 it's stored in C:\WINNT\Media and it's called "Utopia Exclamation" though it's pitched up from the one on that website

JToH uses so many of these sounds! like the buttons and teleporters are the (button) bass.wav and button.wav and (teleporter) HalloweenThunder JToH is so nostalgic idk why also ObrenTune created JToH before ToH back when he was named Kiddie_Cannon and the name of JToH used to be Kiddie's Tower of Hell instead of Juke's Tower of Hell

Those last few sounds hit ne so hard in the nostalgia! I remember those sounds. I even remember the context for most of them (Electronic Ping Short was used for the clone/copy tool, for instance)

A lot of these sounds are still used in newer roblox games like bake a cake back for seconds I know bake a cake did come out a while ago but it still gets updated and its very popular. Also it definitely came out after 2008 lol

Most of them started off with one small lead or idea that I had, for example: I looked for UFO flying sounds and filtered results to show things from before 2004 (a very useful Google tool) and it almost immediately gave me the site it was from. Once a day for that entire week, I would spend like 2 hours to try and find the next one. Also thanks!
