Amidst the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza & Palestine in general, it is important to know about the history of Zionism & Israel in order to fully comprehend the horrible events unfolding before the world's eyes, while the imperialist supporters of Israel support it by various means. The war on Palestine is international, and it is the duty of all Marxists around the world to engage with the history and the ideas of Zionism in order to better struggle against it.

Not in any way related to the holy land, unless you can convince me that a Chinese man who converted to Judiasm is indigenous to the Middle East. 2- Palestinians are not "Arabs", they're Arabized, huge difference between the two.

It is so said that the intentions of Zionism are in the open, we just need to look harder. I have always known that it was a colonial entity but to see it so detailed and how other colonial powers enabled them because of their shared goal of Europeans to colonise non-Europeans, was just hard breaking and sad. Thank you so much. I grew up with the mythology that grew up in the aftermath of WWII. It had only recently been won and stood as proof of the essential honourability of the West. We had wrestled Evil to the ground , and could look forward to a brighter tomorrow. Part of the Evil, it was said, was the callous indifference the West had displayed toward the Jewish sufferings under Nazism . The whole mythology was portrayed in the movie "Exodus" with Paul Newman. I highly recommend that younger folks of today try to get ahold of a copy of this movie if they want to understand the mindset that formed the basis of support for Israel that can still be found amongst Western liberals of my age. Now it was our duty to do everything we could to rectify our mistake - as though anything we could do now would bring back any of the millions of slaughtered human beings. And then I moved to the big city and started meeting leftists in my high school. The first myth to fall was the claim that the world had "stood by and done nothing" while Jews were exterminated. Not true. Millions marched in protest against fascism. They were ignored by word leaders. The second myth was the equation of fascism and anti-Semitism. While it is true that fascism is ultra-racist, it in not true that anti-Semitism is foundational to it. Mussolini - the inventor of fascism - did not initiate any Holocaust, and resisted Hitler's demands that he export Jews (more because he did not want to be ordered around by Hitler than out of any sympathy for Jews). And Jews were only the first among the so-called untermeschen whom the Nazis wanted to cleanse from the earth. They thought this project would take a thousand years and hence called their regime the "Thousand Year Reich". Jews amounted to only around half of the victims of the extermination camps. But the big issue for the Left at the time was of course Vietnam, where we were the bad guys. This, and feminism, took up most of my energy. And then the coup in Chile happened, and Argentina, and the struggles in Latin America took my energy. Along the way, Vanessa Redgrave made a documentary about Palestine, which was picketed by the ADL - whom she called a bunch of Zionist thugs. But there were so many other things happening I simply did not have time for an indepth study of the Middle East situation. I knew enough to understand that the Palestinians were the wronged party and that Israel was not the democracy we were told. So now I'm doing a lot of catching up and am horrified to discover how much worse it really was. And the fact that so many early Zionists were anti-Semites is just mind blowing. So this wasn't a case of good guys gone wrong - well-intentioned people losing their way. So thank you for the much needed education.

Funny if you remember Primo Levi was sent to Auschwitz from the "reluctant" Italy. Western so-called Allies knew early on what had been happening to the Jews at the hands of Nazi Germany and collaborators - read up on Jan Karski and the heroic Witold Pilecki (who intentionally smuggled himself into Auschwitz, from where he'd later managed to escape, with meticulous reports and evidence) - and decided against taking any action.

Your analysis of the origins of Zionism is very detailed and quite excellent, as far as it goes... however, it only goes back to 1880 and concerns itself primarily with the political origins of Zionism. Philosophically, however, the roots of Zionism can be traced back through Frankism, all the way to the (false) Jewish 'messiah' of 1666, Sabattai Tsvi... I think it is important not to overlook this fact, because without the Frankist element, so-called 'secular Judaism', or even the so-called 'reformed Judaism', would have been unthinkable. It is only with the double-standard provided by the Frankist/Sabbataean 'Law of Inversion' that such notions even becomes possible. Perhaps you might consider investigating this in a future video...

The music of the intro reminded me of a rare moment of hopeful surprise I had here in the United States, when I heard Arabic music playing at a local market, rather than the usual top 40 garbage. The song was heavy on wailing, & its only words I could recognize were the refrain of Palestine, & its several major cities including Gaza, Khan Younis, Rafah, Janine, Jerusalem, Bethlehem.

In this video, like most communist creator's material, you aren't only given the data - not only given different perspectives (even quoted) - but also the framework in which to analyze them. For someone that learns how to analyze reality scientifically why would they be afraid of bots? You can't "convince" anyone you can't "force" truth down anyone's throat. You need to provide them with the tools to understand reality and the hope/drive to change it
