Here's a fun coincidence King AZ could be a reference to Arceus and the Z should've separated off to be the Kings little brother Zygarde who was split into pieces and possibly represents the key to the weapon or the weapon itself hidden away. The Red Shelves I'm assuming coincide with Yveltal, destruction speaking of an end while the Blue Shelves speak of returning life like Xerneas.

Chi-Yu's Scarlet Pokedex entry reads thusly: "It controls flames burning at over 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit. It casually swims through the sea of lava it creates by melting rock and sand." Chi-Yu is locked behind the Firescourge Shrine, which is found in this exact area in Fury Falls. Coincidence that a floating fire fish capable of melting rock and sand is found in an area filled with obsidian spires?

The big theory about the crater is that it likely wasn't a crater when the weapon was fired. It was probably another landform and then the giant weapon made the crater.

Whether AZ himself created the technology or as king commissioned a scientist to develop it, it sounds like grief corrupted its design? Was the machine similar to what heals inside a pokemon center? Seems like it was only used once to restore Floette and in doing so wiped out both armies. The survivors of the fallout hid the weapon and the regretful general/younger brother tries to possibly make-up for his mistakes because he feels that he's responsible for Floettes death/ressurection. If Lysandre is the author maybe theres some hidden resentment in the writing. Maybe his great great(do we know how many generations?) grandfather could've taken the throne before a group like the elite 4 took over but he chose not to and this only caused Lysandre to resent his family possibly for losing their throne or possibly neglect who knows but he uses his intelligence and team Flare to retrieve the weapon only he should have knowledge of. These journals could be Lysandre slowly going mad in search of promised power. It definitely sounded like AZs brother survived the weapon and wished for a world created by humans where such a weapon ISN'T necessary. It's likely any ruins near Kalos, Galar, maybe Paldea and Alola are what remains from the fallout. Here's hoping you're right about the dlc including the destroyed war zone and the potential for radiation inspired regional variants.

I thought the lore/dex entry of the Goldfish of ruin(beads) was the cause of the obsidian spires in that area cause it swims through rock melting it down into igneous rock

I was looking at Parfum Palace Garden pictures again. People have for a long time theorized that the garden in the upper right corner represents a Bastiodon, but that makes no sense because Bastiodon is a fossil. I Think the images taken together represent different areas that banded together in the war. So the image picture on the top right probably represents an unknown pokemon at the time of X and Y, and can't be Bastidon because they millions of years extinct. I think image in the top left represents the "Disk Pokémon" The eyes somewhat resemble the eyes that appear on Terra Crystal's when tera pokemon make their hats. They don't look exactly alike because the Disk Pokémon seems to obscure information about its existence. Like how every mention of it in books have letters blotches out that refer to its name, it did that in Sada and Turo's research notes, and every copy of the Scarlet and Violet books.

Love your theories. but isnt the area with the rocks where chi-yu is found? the reason for the dark rocks could be that they are ignius and created by the seas of lava it creates to swim through?

I feel like you came to the right conclusion, but all your math is wrong. While I can’t say I watched your previous theory, I feel like a war with Kalos, and then the Darkest Day happening, would have been noted at some point somewhere in Galar’s story. More than likely everything you said regarding the mountainous area being the place hit by the Ultimate Weapon, makes sense, to separate Paldea from Kalos so that the two regions would separate and end the war. My only issue is that we know why the onyx crystals litter the mountain range, and it’s not from the ultimate weapon’s blast: it’s Chi-Yu. We know this as it’s sealed within the ruins inside one such mountain affected by it’s molten power, that melted the ground and turned it into slick obsidian. If everything in your theory attributed to Galar was attributed to some ancient Paldea kingdom led by AZ’s brother, it makes more sense overall. AZ’s brother likely wasn’t at the frontlines of the aftermath of the weapon attack, and seizing his opportunity, decided to attack Kalos directly out of greed, but changed his mind seeing the weapon and it’s aftereffects, buried the weapon and returned home to his Paldean Kingdom. Now after his death, Paldea was in the hands of AZ’s Brother’s protégé, who, after hearing where the weapon was buried from his former King, became greedy and decided to go after the source of the weapon, perhaps to make his own. That then leads to reasons behind why the future Paldean Emperor, probably a descendant of this man, was so adamant about going after a ‘treasure’ in Paldea’s Crater, as legend passed down from his family line stated that was the source of great power, which this king obviously greatly wanted. And that’s how you connect Kalos and Paldea to the war.

The mountains was a metaphor. He was talking about it before he united the region.

I mean, assuming that both blasts were the same size, at least large enough to lay waste to Galar, which is supposedly the size of the UK, if a beam that size hit a region on the border of Paldea and Kalos, wouldn't the ensuring crater be large enough to be noticeable from either world map?

I’ll be honest, I think the location you’re referring to is Chi-yu destruction since near every shrine there’s some kind of destruction going so indicate such. But I don’t think you’re far off either. I feel like the location of where the ultimate weapon struck is maybe where the DLC map is located or somewhere near? Maybe there’s a split we haven’t seen yet beyond the mountain that blocks us off. Or maybe the weapon was buried in that DLC area maybe? But that one could be a reach lol

It said that AZ sent his Floette to battle, not that it was taken. I also thought AZ was at war with his brother.

these theories are really cool and make me ecxited to see what the dlc would be but i can shake the feeling that theres a chance that is just gonna be a simple legendariem dump and some extra areas with litlle substence.

Another great hypothesis! While i do agree with it mostly, i have to disagree about one of the details. I do believe the Ultimate Weapon was fired near the border mountaints between Kalos and Paldea but i believe that area doesn't exist yet in the game. the Northeast area you mentioned has the charring and crystal shards coming out of the mountains because of Chi-Yu. You know that Chi-yu was sealed in this area so its fair to assume chi-yu had already been in here for a while before the people finally sealed it. Chi-yu spews out and swims in lava so before being sealed, it razed this area which melted the mountains back into lava and magma and then later solidified into the black crystals we on the mountains. If the Ultimate Weapon was fired there, the mountains would not just have been melted but vaporized leaving much less material than what we see today. Its also possible that the nature of the weapon's firing is not the same as the weapons we have IRL and could just take away life force while leaving inorganic matter untouched, just like Yveltal in its cocoon of destruction form. The rocks and mountains would be untouched and its not much of a stress to assume this since Xerneas ans Yveltal's powers are what powered up the ultimate weapon. All im trying to say is that the Northeast region in Paldea is not a strong enough evidence for firing of ultimate weapon regardless of how it functions. I believe the area where it was fired will be one of the DLC areas.

Okay, I can admit when I'm wrong about something - arguably a rare trait in people these days. While you didn't address my last comment about the blatantly sketchy Raifort being the only one claiming the Paldean Crater was formed Millions of years ago, rather than *around 3000 years ago (created by* AZ's Ultimate Weapon), the Evidence in Lysandre's Notes does seem to imply the firing to have likely targeted the Mountain Range between Paldea and Kalos. I still feel like the Age of the Crater is much younger than it's been made out to be, but it does seem to have had to be around before the Ultimate Weapon for the Brothers to gather its Tera Crystal resources for building the Weapon. I'm willing to admit defeat here though...
