Kittens, like many animals, hiss and get angry as a form of defense mechanism or when they feel threatened or scared. It's their way of communicating that they're feeling uncomfortable or stressed. This behavior is often seen when they encounter something unfamiliar or perceive a potential danger. Kittens may also hiss and get angry during play if they become overly stimulated or if their boundaries are being pushed too far by littermates or humans. As they grow and gain more socialization and experience, they typically learn to manage their reactions better.
