If the author finished animating it, it would look so god damn good, the movements and expressions are spot on and I loved that. Of course that the shipping would have to be cut off for it to fit in the canon, it would perfectly feel like another version of the story, like how Beast was a "What if Oda hadn't died and Dazai recluted Atsushi instead of Akutagawa" but a "What if Chuuya left the Port Mafia along with Dazai".

For those interested, there's a fic extremely similar to this animatic, except there's no dancing and singing of course. The fic is on Ao3 and it's named "Everything Had Changed, Yet The Moon Was Still There" by Fifi_writes and it's about what would have happened if Dazai had gone back to Chuuya and if Chuuya had accepted the offer. Amazing animatic!! I've lost count of how many times I've watched this XD

From the comments below, it appears the author received hate for their female Chuuya - female Chuuya is so popular, at least in the circles I'm in! I'm sure it's hard, but I wish creators would stand their ground and block/ignore haters. By disappearing, they let the haters win, and they let the false messaging persist that what they created is in some way 'bad'. The way to win is to keep creating exactly what haters hate. Man. But it's poetic here because of all the people that wanted Chuuya to live in the light, it was Dazai who finally convinced him to finally take that chance and make that choice for himself. Also, the "disgraced" and "disowned" part stabbed me (like how he got backstabbed because ouch) because 😭 my god, he was just a kid. And when Dazai removed the bandage on his eye- as if saying that they're starting new- I LOVE THIS! Ps. And for once, Mori's not meddling in anything.

there is a comment mentioning this but i already replied and im not gonna reply twice like a weirdo I believe it was either at the end of the Stormbringer or Beast light novel where Asagiri considered an ADA Chuuya AU, not directly but it was in a list of possibilities. In Beast, its mentioned that there are multple universes, one where Chuuya joins the ADA. Which means Dazai asked him to come with, and he accepted, which is what i think is a little funny because, Chuuya really is a loyal dog, isnt he?
