Also a tip for the religion flipping part: you can force dominant religion recalculation by privateering (or switching node if you were already privateering) and letting a day pass, instead of waiting for the month tick Edit: also you don't need to dev to get 30% crown land, because you'll get the Dhimmi lands when you swap to Orthodox the first time.

Stronger than HRE without privilegia, as you can increase your income from them with Income from Vassals, you don't need to be stuck as Catholic, you don't need to worry about votes, you don't need to worry about diplo slots (allying electors), you aren't limited to only europe, or to directly bordering existing imperial provinces, you don't incur buckets of AE for expanding your "empire", You can reconquest their cores and control the war, they won't be infighting and lowering your Imperial Authority. you don't need to convert them to your state religion. I'm sure more that I don't know about.

I’m good enough to go for non easy Ironman runs (just got master of India+Hormuz Aden+Paris Pasha + Triple Rome achievement as Ottoblob and am starting a revoke run but I don’t think I’m ready for WC yet. Any thoughts on tips especially for how you manage war pace (over extension/AE/coring). Coalitions aren’t an issue to fight of course just massively slows progress

@@Speedster___ Really it is all about the snowballing. Independent of who you start as in the early game, if you set yourself up with a solid power base and the ability to grow you should be good to go in terms of prep. If you can get to the late 1500s as the top ranked major power that's generally a good sign. When you start your world expansions over the next century, you'll have to worry about agressive expansion of course, but do push the limits there and make good use of different paths of expansion through very different religious groups. If you can ping wars between 3 faith groups, you'll probably be good to go. And make sure to focus attention on the other major powers. Eat up the small states when available or when you need a route through their area, but reducing the strength of the majors so they become very manageable late game is ideal. Then in the last century, if you've managed to field an army of half a million or so, you can start ignoring aggressive expansion as no one will think it worth it coalitioning you as they'd lose. But if you still have trouble there, always remember: they can't ally against you if they're already at war with you. Ideally fully occupied while you focus on the main target of the war.

@@DrIzixs how much do a cooldown between wars do you do? In my last big blob campaign I always did a war or two peace both out then had like 2 years of peace before I considered another war. Really appreciate the through response.

@@Speedster___ By the late 1600s if I'm going full conquest I shift to having as little time between wars as possible. Fight the next war while the cores finish from the previous war. Which is another reason to have multiple fronts of expansion. If you finish a war in Europe and then attack in southern Asia, those cores your making are less likely to get disrupted via occupation. The complications to this is making sure you have the army to support this (moving a bunch of armies from Europe to India takes time after all) and you can manage war exhaustion so you don't have rebellions everywhere constantly.

@@Speedster___ I know this is kinda late, but honestly WC is a lot easier than you think. I was the same way. The guideline I used was 1000 dev 1500 3000 dev 1600 10000 dev 1700 wc by 1800. I thought I was really behind, but pulled it off pretty easily in the 1750s. Once you have absolutism and imperialism just saty at permanent war and countries kind of vanish from the map. That said I think the runs are kind of boring because you manage so many wars for so long, so I probably won't do another soon.

did not understood that eyalets that are not reigned in have liberty desire calculated like regular vassals.... all vassals have their strength calculated together against you. while eyalets that are reigned in are like personal unions, with their strength calculated alone against you.

They have not fixed it, to my understanding. I tested it on 1.37 (Not 1.37.1 however) but I saw nothing in the patch notes to indicate it has been fixed.

You can just set the date to 1821, then back to 1444 and be a Bizantine Orthodox Holy Roman Emperor.

Orthodox can never be the Dominant faith of the HRE, so no Orthodox emperors. You'd have to convert to Catholicism, or join the reformation and win the league war.

i think its cool mechanic. considering you need to use favors to call them in and that they are treated as ally in the war. where enemy can separate peace deal with them and even take their provinces while still in war with you. just dont call all 100 vassals every time. use couple that are in good positions for the war.

I don't! anyone can do decent with infinite money and manpower though.

i did that mistake in one of my runs. when you not reign in at least some of the eyalets. they start getting high liberty desire when you have like 30 eyalets. basically all eyalets that are not core eyalets get liberty desire calculated together like normal vassal. while core eyalets are more like personal union. with their liberty desire being calculated alone against you.
