The beauty of the second ending in this video is that this guy was smart enough to convince one of the leaders of the colony to stand down and trust him with the faith of the colony, and then he goes "Uhhhhh I just wanted ice cream"

I had never taken the Vicar this far without doing his quest, and now I regret not having tried it. The way he just goes "That's it. I'm done." is PURE GOLD.

If their was a nuclear war, that wouldn't of destroyed the ship sent to Earth. But if it was aliens, then why haven't they attacked the other colonies? It's been three years, then after the game's ending their is another huge time skip. Still no other colony, has been attacked.

Akande's facial reaction = Greeeeeat.... now guess it is back to me resolving all the issues of the Board on my own all over again... why did I believe this dumb idiot would be my peer? Phineas's facial reaction = Oh... well... guess I'll be continuing to do what I was doing before, maybe I'll try some of that 'Iced cream' later on to see why it is so sought after by the hero of Halcyon

Now the stupid character is a real unplanned variable. Think about it, Sophia Akande and Phineas Welles planned on you helping ruling or helping Halcyon after everything you went through and the stranger up and decides he wants to get something to eat.

Same...I did a playthrough where I was a hero at Edgewater, slaughtered everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) in Byzantium, Killed both the factions on the Radio quest as well as the dude that ran the tower, got Parvati extremely drunk while making everyone on the Groundbreaker love me to the point the delved into the depths of Tarturus to help me take down a tyrant, and killed said tyrant with a single shot from my trusty Spacer's Choice Light pistol mk 2.....and I ended it with an ice cream party.... Edit: I basically started off as a hero for the first few areas and then proceeded to say fuck it on everything afterwards. Because I'm the unplanned variable.

So the only way to get the best Ending is by betraying Welles, siding with the Board and going for Ice Cream? I say it's the best because the image implies Celeste Jolicoeur is still alive in this timeline.

While it is true that with this captain i did not finish the quest she was in so she is alive, i think it would show up either way (the board side anyway)

Doesn’t mean that Obsidian can’t do lovecraft. Which, tbh, I think they somewhat unintentionally did with the Ghost People (which, I understand it’s really the trauma suits which make them tick but, I really don’t believe a suit is really gonna literally hunt people to drag them away into a toxic cloud for God-only knows what)

"I don't know what I expected." You should have expected a normal answer, because Obsidian's writing in this game was so damn lazy, they just speckled random, "funny" (protip: not actually funny) Dumb responses into the game's dialogue. It was a completely normal conversation up until that point. The Welles version of the ending even shows the protagonist has massively high science and speech skills...but still is just DUMB LOLOLOL GET IT OH OBSIDIAN YOU SO FUNNEE
