I walked in a little Church I used to go to about a year after I hadn't been. I was on the way to the Hospital to see my Grandmother who was not going to make it (According to Drs.) when I passed the Church. I all of a sudden pulled in the parking lot and went in crying asking for Prayer for Her the Preacher said Ma'am, you're not supposed to come in here like that and interrupt us. I said just please Pray with me for my Grandmother and so they finally did. Afterwards ppl were crying and saying Praise God & the Preacher says Ma'am I'm sorry & you come back anytime because we need more ppl like you that has your Faith. Well I just said Thank You to everyone & left. By time I got to the Hospital my Grandmother was doing so much better & got to come home about a week later. She taught me about God and Jesus when I was just little & she lived to be 97. Thank You Nobody should Judge anyone that's God's place.

Paycheck nailed it. Lord I am not much but a sinner saved by your grace. I believe in the Lord Jesus. One day and one-day soon I will rejoin my family and friends who've went above. I live for God's will, and God's timing. Living for eternal time. God bless. PS God operates in eternity not our time. God Bless all who read this.

You know I think that song needs to be sung in every single church these days. I do know the Lord as my personal savior. I have been in a many of church houses in my day but today's churches are in worse shape than they were when this song was written. Every single word in this song is more true than ever before. You know I hope that Johnny Paycheck will make it into the Country Music Hall Of Fame one day if he hasn't already. I also hope he made it into heaven to. Great song, Amen.

So I pray for those who look down on me, cuz no matter what we’ve done, in the eyes of God, we’re all sinners, and I’ll be Praise’n YOU JESUS CHRIST all the day long with every breathe He allows me to take, til I draw my last, and then I’ll BE PRAISING MY Lord & Saviour in Heaven beyond, for Eternity…💓🕊

I don't believe in church goers and yes, I believe in GOD,they're fake.they are christians but not religious. So very true..I moved from Illinois to Arkansas to be close to my grandma in her last years.anyway, myself and the guy I was with(15 yrs) went to a church they were kinda standoffish (:we didn't have expensive clothes,we are country people.))my church is my home.. a couple days later the pastor came to our house and told us not to come back to his church unless we were married. So we didn't tell him we were looking for a preacher to wed us. Then another church they would shun us cause we didn't have tithes$$(offering$_).every week and not much $$$been 10 yrs &not been back to a church since. That's not Christian. My point is it's people like that that keeps many from going to church and Praise God at home. I do.

My condolences and sympathy 🙏 As for where all the great country music has gone.. here's a story: Rory Feek [of Joey and Rory] would play his guitar that had a custom inscription which said "I miss country music" and he got a lot of criticism from the country music elites so he stopped playing the guitar onstage and instead started to play another guitar inscribed with the words "I love country music" in order to appease the naysayers. Thought that might resonate with you. Peace, love and blessings!

Love this song because the same thing happened to me. I went to my mother's church to surprise her for her birthday. I was dressed in all black, black duster and cowboy hat. I had long hair and a beard. When I opened the door I was told that I couldn't come in looking like that. My mom showed up and have me a hug. The guy called her by name and he asked her if she knew this bum. She said yes and then he told me I could come. I said no thanks I don't want to go in a place where I wasn't welcome!!

Beautiful singing. I have been evicted from one church for questioning a pastor who said if a woman had an affair with a married man it was no longer a sin. False teaching need rebuking. The second church ignored me because I called out a pastor who lied three times. So now I worship in the House of God, the House of Prayer, the House of Worship. God bless

One night at the Kings Inn I met Johnny and his band! Wasn't his best show a few too many. I got to be with Johnny on his bus, we talked about life as life isn't what you may think. His values are different than mine. He made it, my life was just starting! That's been 31 years ago, now my life did change I did make it where I didn't think possible! His words of life still ring true through the drinks didn't crush the words he gave to me!

Dave B,I couldn't agree more. I lived in Kansas City for several years and every week when I would go to Liberty MO. I drove by one of those "Super Churches". It amazed me just the sheer number of people that were there. I think that's a good thing. If it works for them then bless them all. I can sit in my little country church and be content. I am an ordained minister as well as an old fashioned ex Hell Raiser and have learned that it don't always have to be a church. Some of my favorite "me and Jesus" times are when I am sitting on the bank of a lake or pond waiting for the fish to bite, or when I am mowing the lawn with my headphones on listening to my music. I hope that everyone can eventually find a nice little country church where neighbor looks after neighbor regardless of a past.

That He loves us he is love. More years than I care to remember. My career kept me on the road as I worked in the federal prisons with death row inmates in the deep south , It was a Sunday morning before the 1st rays of daybreak, I decided I'd go to this little small church I'd seen on my way in from the airport. I'd been to many churches throughout the south the music & true joy drew me in , I always had a couple sets of dress clothes packed each time . I parked and got out all the while hearing the beautiful gospel music , church had been in I'd say at least 30 minutes already , quietly as I could I walked in and set a couple rows from the back ,closest to the doors . Within a few min a man approached me and said , your not welcome here so I need you to leave. I was dumbstruck and at a loss for words , I looked down to make absolute sure I was dressed appropriately, I was. The only thing that separated me from the congregation was the color of my skin . With a broken heart and sadness in my soul , I just politely smiled and left . 23+ years later I've not stepped foot in a church again. I'd decided then and there after the tears dried that I didn't have to go to church with four walls , everything I could see was what God created, he was everywhere . I have to admit after awhile wherever I was in the south I'd park in the church lot just to listen to the beautiful music. I retired over 15 yrs ago after I was almost killed and hurt severely on the job . I've never heard southern gospel music since. I should have explained I'm caucasian .
