As a Liverpool supporter I enjoy Roy Keane speaking. Most people criticise owner, and managers and give the players a pass. Keane is honest and fair in his assessments, and lays blame everywhere that it is rightly due. He constantly calls out players for not putting in the work and not realising how lucky they are to be in the positions that they are in and to start earning the huge salarys they command. 2 thumbs up mate

@@Mcfc2Rich completely mate. People like Martin Keown are so quick to defend the players and constantly yak about the pressure they are under...really? Pressure? Come down here where the supporters and blue collar workers are, where a single mother has raise 2 kids on her own, or a father working as a janitor worries how he puts the next plate of food on the table...that's pressure. These guys wake up after 8 hours of sleep and get personal chefs to make their breakfasts and before lunch decide on the next sports car they want to drive. Anybody can negotiate a big salary, agents do it all the time...but, the player has to then EARN that salary....and that means putting in the yards on the pitch. Far too often they aren't putting in anywhere near the amount of work that they should, and the owners and managers have to bear the brunt. That needs to start charging. Good on ya Keane, you call out these lazy wankers when they don't put in the yards...it's high time someone does...

The rest of I was rehearsed scripted stuff from their past and talking about their times as a footballer. Something they have shared lots of times I think. The topical segment was very short so not missing out much but was good to see live.

Liverpool and Chelsea can instantly rebuild, Newcastle can't. Top players will go where they can get money AND trophies, and Newcastle are still a virgin on the trophy front. Once they win one however....

Roy was 100% right when discussing the mentality of the Spurs players. They aren’t winners and do “bottle it” when pressure is applied. There is a core group of players there that are too comfortable and winners need to be brought in.

Roy Keane spent his career WINNING titles, not being in the top 10. And this is coming from a Liverpool fan btw; when you're at a top club finishing below first is a blow. Extended runs finishing below first is humiliation, which is why he didn't say Man Utd have impressed despite their improvements. Clubs like Brighton and Brentford deserve acknowledgement, but admiration and respect? Only if they win a trophy. Anything Newcastle do though is like what City does; hollow. Anyone can "impress" with an unlimited budget.

Chelsea got round the ffp rules by signing everyone on super long deals. If they were 5 year max then yes they've broken the rules Uefa will be changing the rules now to close the loop hole

I disagree with Keane completely. Teams down at the bottom half of the table are way better than the teams during Keane's days. In his days it was just United, no one else could compete with them financially.

I really like Keane but I think he's wrong when he says the quality of the Prem has been poor this season, when you look at how teams like Newcastle, Brighton, Brentford, Villa and Fulham to a point have broke up the traditional top 6 and increased the competitiveness and interest in the league

Keane is spitting bullets that Lampard keeps getting chances despite clearly being an awful manager, and he's right to be, Keane wasnt a great manager but he was no worse than Lampard was and was frozen out a long time ago because id imagine he wouldnt play the game. I fully expect Gerrard to land a nice cushy premier league job soon enough too

As a United fan I find it strange that nobody mentions Newcastle as a success this season, I highly rate Eddie Howe as a manager. The so called big 6 is a joke fabricated by Sky media. Spurs never won shite and Chelsea are a shambles. Villa Brentford and Newcastle are all doing great

I dont care how many star players you have, it gets you no where. Newcastle basically have the same team as last year and are 3rd in the premier league. Chelsea have superstars and are no where to be scene. Football at this level is a team game and takes a lot more than just superstars. Man for man city walk all over arsenal, but thats not happening when they come up against other teams. Arsenal have been a proper TEAM this year not superstars.
