I couldn't believe it when Pagani invited me to Italy to experience my first Hypercar...the Huayra. I had a private tour of the factory to see how these incredible cars are assembled and then the plan was for me to get behind the wheel and experience driving my first Hypercar. Things didn't quite go to plan...

I've was lucky enough to see a Huayra in a private collection finished in unpainted carbon and agree with others who have commented to say they are pure automotive art. It had some impressive stable mates for competition, F40, 288 GTO, 1955 300SL Gullwing, McLaren P1 and Senna another pure carbon finished car, 918 Spyder among the highlights

Absolutely fantastic video Peter. Very interesting and informative and my word what a car, absolutely amazing to see and hear, really glad you still got to go out in it and hope that you do indeed get to finally drive it, what a video that’ll be. You really did bring home the amount of work that goes into these amazing cars and they certainly are something special but the big question is……. What next? 😉👌🏻👍🏻

Absolutely loved this, a shame the weather was bad but even still that test driver was very talented and what phenomenal noises it makes! Must say mate the way you presented the video and relayed the information made me feel apart of the experience. I’ll never get my backside in one but we get to see it/feel it with you. Thank you, I hope you’re enjoying that road trip with your brother, in fact I know you are! All the best for the rest of your epic journey.

My favourite Hypercar brand Pete. I'm sure if you keep growing this channel you'll have a Pagani one day. I would love a Zonda, not too much a fan of the Huayra as the turbos drown out the engine but I'm sure in real life the Huayra is amazing. Thanks for the great video, very jealous.

Wonderful automotive art, thanks for sharing what you could! My Grandad served in Italy in WW2 and only said 2 things about his time there: how wonderful, warm and generous the people were and how cold, wet and rubbish the weather was..

Great shame it was wet and you weren't able to drive it, but what an experienced "test driver" he was, in those conditions! Pure automotive art which it needs to be at that price. Leonardi Di Vinci would have loved it, I'm sure! That glare from the top of the dashboard against the windscreen would drive me mad though! (could have been caused by the camera angle maybe?). For me the interior is a bit too "blingy," needs toning down a touch.

Those Italian clouds have plagued you every time and this time it dulled a very special day…but maybe Pagani will ring again next month in a heatwave! That certainly is a special car though with a mechanical engine sound..not electronic pops and hangs..just pure engineering..get your 1m subscribers and you might be looking at getting one!!! I will have to have the Huayra as my second car, and keep the Astra estate for daily work. Oh! Hahaha! Air brakes! I do have some already, but only on a model glider!

Single clutch acceleration is so different. 0-60 in 3.3 but 100 in 5.7 and 125 in 8.2. Quarter mile? 10.4....at 149 mph! Reminds me of the dogleg Vantage...12.5 quarter at 123! Low speed acceleration is compromised for bench racers but it's more dramatic than a dual clutch.

I did the Pagani factory tour in 2013 and we were told that the base price of any model started at 1,000,000 euros. I hate to think how much they are now. My tour did not get a passenger ride unfortunately.

Excellent video Ped. Our visit to Pagani in 2018 was the highlight of our time in Italy. Well, that and dinner at Oesteria Francescana, when it was still rated as the #1 resurant in the world. The Pagani workshop was amazing, such automotic excellence and art combined.

That chap looks very young to have worked for Pagani for 20 years. He said he started driving them at 25 but I don't believe he is 45yo. I imagine he maybe started as an apprentice at 16 and worked his way up to driving at 25yo when insurance isn't so highly priced.

The active aero sequence was fascinating. It goes to show that if you are smooth with your driving technique the car reacts accordingly, and of course being Italy speed limits are for other drivers.

The Zonda R is still the best sounding car at the flint wall at FoS for me. Absolutely incredible. Thank you Ped for taking us with you on this visit, Pagani are just in a league of their own.

What a truly stunning car, story of the brand, insight to the production excellence and simply incredible summary of the evolution of arguably THE pinnacle of hypercar engineering, beauty and design. Every single aspect of each individual car is breathtaking. The drive in the Huayra (despite the inclement Italian weather) was a truly incredible experience even "second hand" via this video. The active rear braking assist control system is in itself pure poetry to watch as it effortlessly follows the drivers acceleration and braking. The final "walk" through the evolutionary history of the Pagani marques was a fitting close to a truly stunning piece of wonderfully edited video that gives we lesser motoring mortals a glimpse into the world of concept, design, creation, driving and ownership of what for me personally is "The Greatest" hypercar on planet earth.

Thank you Pete for such a cool video. It's a great shame you didn't get to have a drive! I'm a bit strange in the fact that I'm not a massive fan of other hypercars like the LaFerrari, Bugattis etc. Whereas Pagani has always been the ultimate for me, a dream and top of the list if I win the lottery!! From their styling, to the incredible interior and the noise of the engine, it's a huge win from me. Obviously the Huayra is ultra cool but I've always preferred the Zonda 😍

To be honest, whilst driving it would have no doubt been very special, getting to ride in it with the test driver was probably better, as there's no way you'd have driven it to the levels he did.......

Pete. If I had have won the £184m then I would have been ordering my favourite hyper car. Excellent reel and very interesting. Never knew that about the F. Worth watching Harry Metcalf's video on the one he had. He goes into the running costs etc. You need to be a lottery winner to afford a service. Ouch!
