In this unique crime series, we follow different women inmates who are pregnant and give birth inside Indiana state prison. Up to 60 babies are born in this prison every year. In this episode, we see inmate Rebecca Carey have an emergency cesarian all alone with no support and then return to prison 48 hours later. We speak with Ieshia who was separated from her baby whilst in prison and many other women to see how they cope in prison whilst having a baby.

I'd almost say, as a mother, she should let her stay with them and arrange an open adoption. They can give her a life she can't. That Amish couple is amazing and have such amazing hearts. They're a true example of humanity at its best.

Very sad to see. I think this is a really good idea. The bond is not broken and maybe the mothers will try harder when they’re released along with their babies. 2 years for drug possession seems a long time.

You don’t need a birth coach with cesarean. He only coach you need is the doctor and nurses. Support is not a coach.

It looks like Tammy would’ve never wanted her child to go thru having to visit her in prison after what she went thru visiting her own mother in prison. I wish her the best, many prayers for her & her child. I guess I just don’t understand her making mistakes that landed her there after the childhood she had due to her mother in prison. And like that lady having 8 kids. Why? My goodness having to go by the color of your baby to even know who the father is. Why bring them babies into this world knowing you’re not ready to be the right kind of mama that baby deserves. I mean good Lord, get ya yourself some birth control

Why in the world would you not reconsider thanking rehabilitative programs are too few and far between in this American prison system.? We have a very imbalanced rehabilitative system within presence. And here in the United States this particular trial for mothers to have their babies with them is focused on the Alcom and helpful changes from the mothers themselves.

Don't be ridiculous. At least try to make a rational case. Prison air is identical to the air you breathe. Possibly better as it may be less polluted. Is it your position that anyone convicted of a crime should lose custody of their children?

If these women are violent offenders… no, they shouldn’t be allowed around their own kids. Non violent, drug offenses etc… the woman should be given more leniency. But, a child shouldn’t be growing up behind bars…. No matter what.
