Content Warning:
Part two shows clips of crude humour that include jokes that degrade people for characteristics such as appearance, race, gender, and sexuality. Brief clips are also shown of cartoon violence, some of which is sexual violence.
Spoiler Warning:
Part one contains minor spoilers for Archer season 3. Part two contains major spoilers for Paradise PD's plot developments in seasons 1 - 2. Part three contains minor spoilers for Fresh Meat season 3. Farzar goes unspoiled throughout all three parts. Brickleberry resets the status quo after every episode so there are no major plot developments to spoil, however several individual episodes have their stories spoiled. That being said though if you care about Brickleberry, Paradise PD, or Farzar spoilers something's gone wrong.

Don't know what you have . Paradise PD is awesome . The way the humor is written is just perfect . Fecal humor at its best . And best of all ? It makes fun of everything and everyone . The logical thing to watch when shows like Southpark and co won't suffice anymore . Complaining about fecal humor and saying it's not funny is strange imo . If you don't think it's funny that doesn't mean others won't think it is . And that's a proven fact cause again . I was laughing a lot of times . I am 100% I am not the only one .

it goes both ways. when a "PC show" is criticised for being bad, the usual creator backlash is that people don't like it cuz they are racist/sexist/homophobic. I feel like both sentiments are part of the reason why a show or film "not beeing political" is seen as a good thing: the creators are confident enough to not hide behind pandering or their political movement. Sorry for opening THAT can of worms though.

Family Guy and its derivatives are absolute proof of this. Even The Simpsons are responsible for this shit too. Though Futurama somehow managed to be the better show of the 3, and it had the fortune of ending while it was ahead. South Park is the miracle for being around 25 years and still being enjoyable and funny, But even I have to admit they need to be looking at ending it in the future. I feel like The Simpsons and Family Guy doomed adult cartoons in the west, because cheap and unfunny comedies are basically all we get now. Or if it isnt supposed to be a comedy, its some mediocre show that tries too damn hard to be edgey and goes for things that would have been shocking during the Satanic Panic era of the 80s and 90s. Whenever adult animation tried hard to be the next Family Guy, the characters always couldn't get enough with doing Peter Griffin's iconic pose.

@Rise65487 Жыл бұрын
Well to be fair, He does have two pauses that both convey his main two moods: -standing arm-crossed it's a pretty standard pause for peoples having an argument or being upset at something. It's a defensive posture peoples takes whenever they're confronted with something irritating, just watch how many Karens use that same posture. -standing arms supporting hips, Now that's a standards position for overweight peoples as its a position that support their weight, Pregnant womens instinctively do it on a regular basis. It also convey openness and generally look both welcoming and pleasant. So it's not like family guy came-up with this stuff, it's pretty standards postures to convey characterisation. But it got known as the "Peter griffin pauses" because of how much he overuse theses pauses. Which make sense considering pauses are the cheapest thing to animates, since we'll you don't even have to animated the full-body, just moving parts like eyes and mouths if the character is talking.

A couple of weeks ago ,while scrolling through a pirate animation site I ended up watching 3 hours of old Charlie Brown shows. The first was dated 1969 and the other 1973. The jokes were quite tame , the animation obviously cheap but they were funny. And enjoyable. Totally inoffensive totally family friendly and not at all embarassing, I could watch them with my mum and dad,my younger sister older brother or my grandma and know I'm not going to feel awkward. The voice acting is really unique and distinctive. I watched one episode of brickleberry and it was the exact opposite of every point I just mentioned. Charlie Brown has stood the test of time ,the jokes still work and I came away feeling good and happy. it's really stood the test of time in my opinion. It's over 50 years old. Over half a century. The only way anyone is going to discuss brickleberry or paradise pd in 50 years time is in a 'can you believe this passed as entertainment?' Or how not to make a tv show. They do not make you feel good. I really wonder what is wrong with our generation, why can't we make classics like they used to? I really like stuff like solar opposites , smiling friends and Rick & morty but I wonder if people will still watch them in 50 years time. I think the only recent animation that will stand the test of time is spongebob.
@Imponicle

Not all TV is meant to be family friendly and make you feel good. Without shit shows you would never be able to appreciate the good ones. Peoples opinions on television is 100% socially constructed and the only reason you know what Charlie Brown is is because it was made popular before you were born. It’s not objectively good or bad it’s just popular and therefore it’s “good” to you because millions of people have been saying it’s good for the past 50 years. If millions of people said they loved Paradise PD instead of shitting on it the public opinion would change while the material stays the same. Society influences our opinion on everything, there is no real “good” and “bad” when it comes to things like this, they’re entirely subjective.

What's weird is some of these jokes would be kinda funny if they were at all capable of dealing back. Like the line "she's having a hard time keeping down her election loss" panning to her drinking straight out of a bottle is pretty funny. But It's ruined by the drinking her own puke part.
@CMCAdvanced
@CMCAdvanced Жыл бұрын
I thought that was more tolerable than the eating your puke with a spoon bit. I feel like they're trying to run an experiment with this show about how much similarity people will accept and how much a joke needs to be tweaked to be funny.

I remember wanting to watch Brickleberry as a kid only for my dad to change the channel. My dad did a good thing looking back. I actually fell asleep while watching an episode of… I can’t even remember which show it was but I sure as hell didn’t watch it on a streaming service. I’m surprised that other cartoons haven’t taken jabs at these shows. Considering that the same creators have managed to make what is essentially the same show three times but with a different coat of paint that some people in the animation industry would be bitter about it. Then again it’s so low hanging fruit that it’s rotting on the ground. Though Harry Partridge did give a brief jab at it

Brickleberry was cancelled and the authors were soft blackballed in the film making community? Shocker! On the other hand, I'll take that news as absolute proof of the existence of a just and reasonable god. Edit: That god must have definitely died sometime between that and Paradise PD.

That may be because my standards have dropped after rewatching Jay's reviews of terrible comedy shows, but the "he told us to never tell his name" gag actually made me smirk. It's timing is fast enough so that the butt isn't excruciatingly obvious and the fact that it's the other guy who says the name also helps with catching one off-guard. It's almost as good (keep in mind that I still use this term loosely) of a joke as the bomb threat one.

Okay, so I just want to say something. I have never seen Paradise PD but when I heard about that cops accident with his privates, I thought it was Kevin's fault the second I heard he was his son, since it would be "shocking and funny" and make the cops bitter attitude toward him somewhat less mean spirited. I didn't even know that at the time, I just guessed since it seemed like the most obvious joke.

I'll be honest, I really like Paradise PD. Of all three of their shows, Paradise PD is actually the best and has a pretty good overarching plot and better developed characters. Especially in Season 2, when the show massively improved in quality and changed it's style of humor to be more than just sexual stuff and "the opposite happens" jokes. Truly the highlight of their career.
