The Pale Heads are essentially a creature created via an early form of the Tyrant project. Lacking necessary co-infectious material, they are basically a super infected. But what sort of context clues exist on the creature, as well as its response to damage that would indicate what is happening? Lets discuss that in todays episode!
Thank you for watching Roanoke Gaming and I hope you enjoy The Pale Head Infection from Resident Evil 3 ( Remake) Explained | Mitotic Ability and Healing

Hey Roanoke did you know that there is actually a protein responsible for repairing talomeres called talomerase. If the cells in the pale heads acted like cancer cells then they likely produce this protein which allows them to keep their cells from degrading to the point where they self destruction. In other word provided the Pale heads can get enough nutrients to sustain themselves, and aren't killed by any other means they could live for potentially hundreds of years.

I've always wanted to know more about the Big Daddies in BioShock - we know the basics, but the fact that they're sewn inside their suit is fascinating to me... Like, is the skin removed first? Muscles must still be there or else they wouldn't be able to move. If the skin is removed then what exactly is attached to the suit - does it include the nervous & circulatory systems? What about the head? The Rosies have their glass window in a place that could be hard to see out of, so is the head left as-is or are the eyes & ears modified too? They've got to have done something to the brain, plus they would need some sort of nourishment so if imagine that's through a port? Songbird too! In Burial at Sea you get to see the head, operational but unattached to a body. There has to be a brain, since they're trying to program it using images shown via a projector. I want to know so bad!
@kwiiin_
@kwiiin_ 3 жыл бұрын
Daddies are not sewn into a suit (BioShock fanatic here). Daddies are put into the suits and then the skin connects to the suit, making it impossible to leave it again. There is concept art for BioShock 2 showing how they imagined the dudes inside.
@Blue_Sonnet
@Blue_Sonnet 3 жыл бұрын
@@kwiiin_ I've seen that I think, do you mean the Alpha where some of his skin is kinda bursting through holes in the suit? From what I remember the Alphas might not have included that as part of the process. Suchong used the word "grafted" to describe the procedure in the "Cheap sonofabitch" audio diary, but I was interested in exactly how that could be done - he says "Take a man, graft skin and organs straight into suit, otherwise suit not work". If there's another concept of the Rosie or Bouncer, can you let me know where it is? I've not been able to find it myself!
@Blue_Sonnet
@Blue_Sonnet 3 жыл бұрын
@@1r0zz I don't think they put it down to magic, or that's said anywhere in-game, I'm just interested in whether this would actually be possible to do. Even if some of the explanation uses Adam as part of the process, I still wonder whether it'd be possible to somehow attach someone to the suit via skin/organs, just as a thought experiment. Roanoke has made videos discissing some more outlandish concepts, like the signal from Dead Space, so it's not restricted to stuff that could only happen in reality without any "extra" help from an in-game doohickey. So, if we consider that Adam could somehow boost the grafting process by preventing rejection or infection, what would happen if you did essentially stitch someone into a diving suit? I'm well aware that the game is far from perfect, but I've wondered about whether the Big Daddy procedure could be possible if you used Adam to prevent issues, using the in-game explanation for how it functions. Tenenbaum discusses how Adam theoretically works in an audio diary (think it's found in the Apiary, with another in Fontaine Fisheries?). Again, BioShock doesn't exactly have a watertight plot, but I'd still love to see someone properly go into whether or not this could be possible, considering the circumstances & lore we're given. I'm well aware that there would be things like tissue rejection, infection, possibly shock, all sorts of reasons why it couldn't happen in real life. I'm interested to see someone talk in-depth about the in-universe circumstances & how that relates to what we know about the human body in reality. If Adam works in the way they say it does, would this be possible? Probably not, but I'd like to see someone discuss that in-depth.
@Blue_Sonnet
@Blue_Sonnet 3 жыл бұрын
@@1r0zz Yep, totally agree, luckily I like silly 😁 I've heard Adam be called a Chekhov's Gun, Magnetic Plot Device, MacGuffin, that sort of thing (TVTropes). But I do enjoy thinking about this sort of thing and seeing how others interpreted the same scenes or aspects differently to myself. It's also fun to look into how much of this would actually be feasible in RL. It's a nice way to learn about something in the real world by seeing how much of it is used in a fictional setting & whether any of it could be possible. I think the apiary log said that Adam causes cell growth in the same manner as a malignant cell, but they were able to direct the growth (to an extent, anyhow). On a side note, I would never have learned about the Meissner effect! I'm not big on physics so it's unlikely I would have looked into quantum levitation otherwise - the series are fun to play and spark my curiosity, that's why I love them so much! ETA: On the subject of disliked scenes, the retcon of Daisy was a bit jarring - in Infinite she went from passionate but reasonable to "let's stab this kid to death!" so I get why they tried to make sense of that, but I felt that it would have made more sense to show her gradually falling apart to the point where that seemed like a good idea, rather than "two people told me to do it". If so, why spend all that time ranting about pulling the evil up from the root? She could just as easily have stood there and said nothing, or say something like "I'm going to stab this boy, try to stop me". She didn't need to go into that rant since the end goal was apparently to get Elizabeth to kill her?
@Blue_Sonnet
@Blue_Sonnet 3 жыл бұрын
@@1r0zz Oh yeah, I loved System Shock 2 - I tried playing it once in the dark (back in the day) and lasted ten minutes! The way Infinite was originally would have been awesome, but some of the changes kinda made sense? Like the Boys of Silence "collecting sounds" as a weapon - would have been awesome but they couldn't figure out how to convey that to the player. I think the art deco stuff was because it had lots of round shaped and curves, which means extra polygons & processing - it was last gen so that shouldn't be an issue any longer hopefully. The concept art for tear-affected citizens looked great though, did you see the one of the old man who also had half a baby face? I'm sincerely hoping I don't have the same frustration you feel with the new Fable & especially Dragon Age 4 when they're out. I don't want "Anthem with dragons"... NO-ONE WANTS ANTHEM WITH DRAGONS!

Hell, Tank controls and camera angles is what made Capcom, you guessed it, Capcom. Deviating from that and unecessary changing and retconing lore made RE3 Remake get shitty reviews. I mean, they already shat the bed with RE7 being First Person and thats ok, its a new modern title. Its not my cup of tea but I understand why they did it, with all that VR crazy and stuff. But Remaking a classic that people grew up with not for them is kinda asinine.

I don't know why but this video got me to think of Venom or the Symbiotes in general. Hey Roan, Can you cover them at some point. Or the monster from the new Carrion videogame (assuming they're no copyright hurdles)

(Spoilers) I feel like the element form ARK: survival evolved would be a good one. There's a bunch of lore behind it, It's a hivemind, it corrupts and infects creatures, it's used to make futuristic technology, it can create titans, and it's liquid form can mutate organisms if injected.

You posted this in 2020 but we have known much more about causes of aging than just telomere shortening for many years and I don't know if errors in mitosis like that barely has any impact. Although things like "junk DNA" not actually being junk and DNA methylation were only really becoming dogma in molecular genetics in my last year or 2 of uni (like 2015) but that was still many years ago. I consider my own knowledge on this to be outdated and require refreshing so the rest of the video still deserves the thumbs up for being good content.

oh my god these guys were a pain in the ass. also an interesting detail in the Resident Evil 3 map. In the room with the hunters and tyrants in tanks, right in the middle, there's two tanks. One of them contains a creature that bears a strong resemblance to the cadou. it makes me wonder if they had planned Resident Evil Village this far back in the series.

Honestly they kind of look like a precursor to the regenerators from RE4. Pale white skin, the mouth, ability to heal on a slower scale. It’s possible what was learned from these lead to it a refinement of the process when using the las plagas.

they are only powerful in resident evil 3, in resident evil 2 and original RE 3 they are easy to kill. But these are mostly humans who attempted to escape through the nests vents and the steam counter measures against humans was still in effect. it will not stop them from turning into a zombie, but it will stop other humans from trying too... some say acid from disposal but there is no disposal on remakes or 2
