I think the Oiler’s players and their fans must be worried , disheartened and disappointed because they outplayed the Panthers , they played as well as they could, has chances to score and still lost 3-0…meanwhile the Panthers didn’t play as well as they usually do and still won. The Oiler’s vaunted pp was neutralized by the Panther’s defense , oh and the best offensive player in the league ( because that’s what he is - McDavid - he is not the best player ) was kept in check by the best defensive player in the NHL ( Barkov ) and we all know that defense beats offense. Not to mention the fact that Bob is a brick wall right now. Cats in 5

These people that say "go top shelf on Bobrovsky" "beat him blocker side high" Does anyone understand Florida doesn't give up goals? Tampa couldn't score vs. Florida Florida won and lost 2-1 vs. Boston They shutout NY Rangers in Game 1 And did the same thing to Edmonton I hate Florida more than anyone, but they are relentless. Forecheck, backcheck, paycheck. Bobrovsky has a save .% in the .800s vs. Tampa and Boston. It didn't matter one bit. Stanley Cup Final is over after Game 1 Congratulations Edmonton on a runner-up finish.

Both teams will make adjustments, Oilers won't be getting as many chances as this goes along. Unless Skinner can match Bob, this is going to be very hard for the Oilers to win.

Definitely NHL Stanley Cup Finals has hit a new low point in history. Never thought I would ever see a panel broadcasting from a beach. Umbrellas, sand, water and blue skies just shout playoff Hockey. Not since the 1967 NHL expansion from six to twelve teams have I been in this much shock. Altogether disappointing and disturbing…I miss the Original Six today.

My team is out in the East but I didn't see the Panthers playing its game and they won, Bob saved their arses, they took to many penalties unlike in the Rangers game and let to many breakaways on Bob......IF.....Florida shows up, its lights out for the Oilers, they are relentless and punishing....I think that's where the Oilers will be spending some time soon, on the beach.

Sorry Y'all....but the Oilers play a Faux-Defense where they do not incorporate contact...they use Gap and Stick Management as System Generated focuses and they voluntarily dump pucks to not make mistakes and burn clock till they can get games into the 3rd period where the fight goes into a Phone Booth....that was ONLY supposed to be a Regular Season Tactical Focus to be used until they regained their Regular Season footings. It was an Emergency Coles Notes System tweak, I know I advised it ,its simply Tactical GamePace Management . The Panthers play REAL NHL DEFENSE and hitting is a System Generated focus. The idea of "System-Generated Contact" is critical because this type of contact has 100% System Support @ all times so it DOES NOT GENERATE PENALTIES because people are arriving on time and not overstaying their welcome....if you play a Faux-Defense like Edmonton does and you suddenly try to incorporate Hitting and Physicality you will always be to early or to late and you will not have System supports so you will end up hanging on to long or sticking/Gapping to tight and the Penalties come by proxy. Its to late to change your Dance Shoes now and after Mumfords regressive impacts the Oilers cannot rely on Fire and Emotion to carry them over rough spots. This is the first Series where the Oilers should legitimately take significantly more penalties than their Opponent. There are adjustments Knoblauch can make...but he and Coffey need help like they got to bring the Team out of its funk and into the Playoffs, no time to balk because this time they have to ask for the help.

I contacted the coach and manager of the oilers and they fail to respond to the fact plus minus is central. I have pressed this point for years now and they don't listen. They can't win the Stanley because they don't care about this data point.
