I was walking in Naha City one day and after going farther than usual I found a very wide alley and turned down it. There was a Movie Theatre. I approached and read the title of a movie. The Paper Chase. Curiosity overcame me and I DUG OUT 500 Yen and attended the movie. It was like a window into another world. I had never seen people like this before. I loved this movie. I still do.

When I started law school ages ago I made sure to find out if there were reading assignments posted before the first classes started. It was memories of this movie and terrorizing scene which reminded me to do so (there were posted assignments).

I can easily imagine Kingsfield as one of the patricians of Boston society. Like he probably taught Dershowitz, a couple of U.S. senators, a sitting and/or former Supreme Court justice, etc. Hence the authority Houseman projects in this masterclass of a performance.

Nice movie. Awesome performance by John Houseman. Law school is nothing like what they portray it in the movie. Most of my professors were approachable, respectful and great teachers.

Law school is one big mind game. Many people waste alot of time briefing cases so they don't look like idiots when they are called. Unfortunately, if you waste all your time prepping for class and fail to learn the black letter law you will be screwed when exams roll around.
@christopherenge49344 жыл бұрын
Yep, I wish someone had told me that. If I had to do it over, I'd take the bar review class the summer before first year. That way I'd have known all the rules cold and could then have a lot more fun with the classroom cases.

Hawkins v McGee. ah, my day 2. I told the prof that the kid with the hairy hand should have been grateful for the hairy hand because he could tell hot girls he was related to Ron Jeremy and explain he was hairy and had a huge tool for them. My liberal professor got all offended and said i should sit down.
