Totally agree with you that The Parallax View is arguably better than All The President’s Men. (And I love All The President’s Men). I couldn’t stop thinking about this movie for the longest time. I was also thinking how Hollywood has forgotten to make a true classic movie. The Parallax View should be mandatory viewing for all film students. I never new this existed and found it by accident, and is now one of my favorite movies. Great informative video!

Absolutely better than All the Presidents Men. The more I watch it the more I think they were onto him right from the very start. The long distance shots and especially the one where he’s on the train in the amusement park getting a new identity give the impression to me that he’s under surveillance. Even the sound on that long distance shot. It’s pretty perfect. The only faults I have are when his ex sees him at the start and he doesn’t bite at all until she’s dead. It doesn’t seem consistent with his character. I think the car chase is good but it feels a little out of place in the movie.

I saw the ending coming. Still, good movie, though. The editing is not so great, but photography is very fine. It's certainly a recommended watch.

Thank you Sir for posting this very informative review and analysis of *_Alan_* J. Pakula's masterpiece. Films were never more bleak, haunting and thought provoking than in the late 60's and early to mid 70's and that, in my opinion, was a good thing. Fascinating movie and I'm surprised no one has commented in over a year (and that it only has just over a hundred views in that time) --- unfortunately that speaks to the fact that this film is not only underrated but quite obscure in the minds of most modern movie-goers. Sad really. I Figured I'd be the first to comment --- someone's got to break the ice.

Thank you so much for watching and taking that first comment leap! I totally agree. The films of the 60s and 70s were some of the best risk-taking movies of all time. Especially when you compare what the Hollywood landscape is today... safe. Luckily, there are still some movies released today that are bold and take some risks, but they're few and far between. I'm glad you dig the Parallax View as much as I do. Cheers!
