You can if you’re spooky about it but it won’t hurt you if you don’t shower it off. Doing it multiple days in a row and not washing it off might give you a rash. But that’s about as far as it goes.

As someone who’s worked for a family owned pool servicing company and has worked the business my entire life . The statement is comical because the chlorine doesn’t stick to you or anything , it bonds with your body’s surface oils . And solidifies on the surface hence the reason after most pools have had their swim load the pools will halve a film of oil on the top surface of the water , also like the dude below said that’s if their is available chlorine ,not just free chlorine , theirs a level of chlorine actively being dispersed through the water and that’s what sanitizes , the chlorine is to sanitize surface bacteria making them harmless to your own micro bioms

Just a quick fact. Swimming pools have no smell. Even with the chemicals. That weird smell is actually the chemical reaction that occurs when pee is introduced.

With all the chemicals we deal with from chem trails, car exhausts, candles household cleaners, lotions perfumes and chemicals we ingest from pharmaceuticals, food manufacturers and fluoride in all juices, sodas, even the freaking ice… I think a summer shower is the least of our worries so shame on you for your holier than thou attitude towards other parents! Fun fact, the “pool smell” some people claim to love is not the pool chemicals alone, that particular odor comes from the chemicals *reacting* with urine, the stronger the smell, specially if it burns your eyes, the more pee there is. In addition to cleaning out everything from the pool. It’s also part of the evening routine. My kids don’t go down to sleep easy if part of the routine is skipped. The routine informs the mind of what’s next and if a part is skipped for younger kids then their little minds are confused.

@@randybobandy9828Maybe for boys, but for females we NEED to take a bath or shower afterwards to prevent a chemical imbalance that could cause an infection in our private areas. Or for both boys & girls, even if you just have sensitive skin you need to wash the pool water off so you don’t get a chemical burn/rash. The amount in tap water vs a pool is incomparable. Tap water usually has about .40 Parts per million while a pool can have anywhere from 4-11 PPM. The FDA allows for 4ppm for tap water but most water companies do not allow it to come even close to that level, usually like 1/10 of that.

Or, wait for it, at the end of the day when she doesn’t get in the pool! I used to do it when I was younger. Pool, ocean, didn’t matter. Getting in didn’t mean I was gonna take a shower or bath. But as a parent we make our kids get clean at the end of the day. Partly to teach them about hygiene, partly to actually keep them clean! 😂😂

I remember summer showers when I was a kid! Give mom a hard time about going for a bath resulted in dad giving us outdoor sprinkler bath/shower that was sooo fun! (Bathing suit on) Soaped up as good as possible and rinsed off in the water! Looking back now, our neighbours must have thought we were crazy😂

Yes!! Always had to wash immediately after or her hair would be green the next day. Now she is 23 & went swimming the other day & apparently the owner put to much chlorine in the pool & her beautiful blonde hair turned green as soon as she got in 😂 She called me freaking out lol. She said mom I got in & my friend said why is your hair green 💀🤣

It's actually the copper content in the pool water that binds with the chlorine that turns blonde hair green. (Lifelong blonde who swam in my pool every day for 60 years)

Any type of hair needs rinsed from chlorine. It literally dries your hair follicles and scalp out. Chlorine kills bacteria but doesn't mean your hair is okay with it. ❤
