Hi there, I realize that there is a mistake and I think it is just a careless mistake. You said someone with internal locus of control is more likely to blame outside forces when things don't go that way. But that is about external locus of control, not internal locus of control. By the way, this video is really awesome! It helps me have a better understanding about path-goal theory! Thanks a lot! =D

Annei Tie Thanks Annei! I'm glad the video was helpful. That mistake was intentional. Simply designed to gauge whether the viewer is paying attention and understanding the material. :)

Hi, Your videos are amazing and really useful to help with my revision for my upcoming management exam. Do you have anything on the Vroom-Jago model? Just a small thing, there's an error on the locus on control. Apart from that. Awesome!

"Someone with an internal locus of control" is mentioned twice when describing how a leader should lead someone based on an employee's locus of control. Around the 5:46 mark, it mentions that someone with an INTERNAL locus of control is more than likely to blame outside forces when things don't go their way. This should be someone with an EXTERNAL locus of control.

Dear Sir, I have only recently discovered this channel and I must say I find it very useful and beneficial. I will soon be doing my business exam. Here's my problem: I get the lesson and the theory (I understand what you are talking about in your videos) but for whatever reason when it comes to the questions I get slightly confused. Firstly, sometimes I get a bit puzzled because the question, in my opinion, can be taken from a lot of different sides and I don't know which side they are referring to [most of the time it is not the one I think of]. Secondly, it's a bit weird how i get stuck with the questions. I don't want to give up because I am very competitive but has it got to do with a certain intelligence level? I would appreciate any kind of advice you could offer and and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Thank you diaryofanordinaryperson! I couldn't make an assessment on intelligence, however it's probably a combination of the exam itself and maybe your understanding of the concepts. Obviously you can't change the confusing nature of the exam, but it's true that many exams contain poorly worded and biased questions. In this case, I often find that reading the question a few times to increase comprehension helps, as well as eliminating a few of the obvious wrong answers. As far as measuring your understanding of the subject matter the litmus test I use is whether the student can explain the concept (essentially teach it) to someone else. Listening to something and it making sense and having to teach that information to someone else are two completely different things. So I would say if you can explain each of the concepts with a degree of simplicity to a family member or friend you should be in good shape for your exam. Hope this helps. Good luck on your exam! -Matt

Hi, I noticed you said in the minute 5.25 of this video that internal locus of control respond to directive style which I believe it was said by mistake and you meant external locus of control, because again in the minute 6.11 you said that internal locus of control prefer achievement oriented style.
