Synopsis
Charlie competes with his fellow shop assistant. He is fired by the pawnbroker and rehired. He nearly destroys everything in the shop and himself. He helps capture a burglar. He destroys a client's clock while examining it in detail.

It was made in 1916.. not 1905. His first movie was made in 1921 and he looks no different than this one.

Chaplin Family still makes enormous money. Hollywood is jealous cause they don't get a dime. That is why the public doesn't see masterpieces like Max Sennet, Mary Pickford on tv today. Instead tv shows cheap crap.

Yes. Very few old timer comedians are as funny as Chaplin. The one exception is Groucho Marx, but alot of that was due to more comedy options due to the invention of "talkies" allowing alot of funny verbal humor on top of visual slapstick humor, which Charlie was the master of. Groucho wasn't as good with visials but was a master of verbal hilarity. I feel sorry for anyone who was blind during the silent film age. At least afterwards like with the Marx bros films, a blind person could've still gotten alot of laughs from listening to Groucho's hilarity
