Despite all the brutality of Russian pressure and all the meanness of Russian terror, the world must prove that a consolidated force of all those who value life is enough to defend life and succeed in doing so. This is important for every country, for every nation, and if it works for Ukraine, it will definitely work for all other countries.

I don’t know what games the USA plays but I don’t like all the dragging out and restrictions they are giving Ukraine. Still fighting with one hand tied! But doing a great job in Crimea and in Kherson. Why is there still no air defense around Kherson? It saddens me to see all the destruction and killings. I agree; the world leaders should want peace, but honestly, I don’t trust any world leader to actually do anything they promise. There can never be rules-based international order with Russia or China involved. The values of authoritarian states clash with those of Western culture. Authoritarian cultures always use brute force to achieve their views of what international order should look like.

A peace summit without the enemy present can never be a peace summit, but I suspect it's an opportunity for Zelensky to cry for more weapons and more NATO troops on the ground. By the way, to have a peace summit, you must be the official leader or official representatives of that country and from what I'm hearing, Zelensky's term is up, so he's neither!
