I love this duet but after at least 50 times listening to it, I still cry uncontrollably. It is so beautiful.❤ I was so happy for Placido as he was magnificent. At 83 and still so amazing.🌹 This was a huge success for the Virtuosos Show as this added a huge fan base and brought world wide coverage to a genre that is less mainstream. Of course Dimash was Dimash. 1 day practice and throat still sore, he slayed it. 🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

I agree with your considerations about Dimash's musical style. He is an expanded consciousness, has all musical genres within him and considers himself a crossover, a neoclassic, in fact he doesn't even fit into this world. He is a watershed, there are those who love him and those who hate him, but he will never go unnoticed. The important thing is that above the fame, the success as an artist that he has already achieved at least in Asian countries, his biggest concern is with peace in the world, the full protection of children, respect and loyalty to his family and his fans. That's why we love him without restrictions with the pure surrender of our heart permeated with love, fidelity to his principles. Dimash is an ethical, precious, handsome and generous avatar, a gentleman recognized by us as an icon of the new human race. Hug from Brazil.

This was a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo and he dreamed of meeting and working with him. This was performed as part of the Virtuoso project, a competition for young classical artists. Dimash was invited to be a judge by Maestro Domingo. I know that he appreciated the opportunity to support young artists. We are very proud of Dimash and hope all his dreams come true.

Gobsmacked. That’s the word for it. Me, too. I’ve been listening to this at least once a day since it dropped. It’s so beautiful. Great reaction! But yeah, no. Put him up there with Placido and I still hear Placido. The man is one of the greatest operatic tenors alive, even tho he’s no longer in his prime. I grew up loving his voice. As did Dimash, who would NEVER want to upstage him.

Dimash singing this opera duet with Placido Domingo (one of the original 3 tenors) was a dream come true for Dimash. I caught a short video of their meeting and how joyful they both were to meet. Dimash, as always being very respectful in telling Placido that when he was just 5 years old he had a tape of the 3 tenors performance and that he came to music because of him. Placido also recognized Dimash. The joy on Placido’s face was priceless. Placido said that his grandson follows Dimash. The duet was so wonderful. I know, Dimash often render reactors speechless. Dimash is Dimash. ❤

Dimash was trained in classical. They offered him a career in the Astana opera in Kazakhstan, but he chose to explore all styles. Hence he has opened the door of music in all its art forms to audiences who would never have had the opportunity. How many rappers are enjoying listening to a quality of music they have been deprived of? Dimash brings new joys. New perspectives....new layers and levels. God bless him.

I like the way Dimash respects his elders, especially those who have put in the hard work for years before him. Placido Domingo just turned 83 and is one of Dimash’s idols, and he was honored to sing with him. I also was happy that an elite crowd of classical opera elite’s embraced Dimash, and yes, faced with his hard work and talent, how could they legitimately not embrace Dimash.

I know you can't hear it, hell I can't hear it, but he had a cold during this performance. And this duet was a dream for Dimash. Singing a song with amazing opera singer and conductor Maestro Placido Domingo, who is now 83 years old. Dimash said during an interview that he heard Placido on VHS when he was 5 years old. I can't wait for the coming year where new songs will be released.

You have to search the background of Maestro Placido Domingo. You will be stunned for sure. Not to know Maestro Domingo is for you as you don’t know Dimash 😂 Maestro Domingo is now 83 years old and you can only imagine how he sang as one of the greatest Tenors in this times. Dimash says there are many more things for him to learn within singing and composition. He mentioned polyphonic singing and sonatas. He says these things cannot be approached lightly. Polyphonic singing is where the sounds come out as two different notes at the same time. I can't wait to hear that from him!

@@marywebster2488 there is a lady who does it and teaches it. I have watched a lot of her videos. Anna Maria Hefele. She is incredible. Also the Mongolian throat singers do it. You can hear them during the Swan Goose duet that Dimash does with Tengri.

yes I apologize, after the fact I realized by putting all my awe into Dimash I definitely disrespected a legend in doing that - but for me Dimash is the legend - I should have used my words differently.

@@ReactionsbyDnot so many people are familiar enough with opera to know the names of opera singers, even legends such as Domingo. The Three Tenors became famous worldwide and were composed of three operatic tenors, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carerras. They performed songs all around the world and had many albums released. Pavarotti sang a superb rendition of this same aria on his solo album (have a listen to it - it's gorgeous). On this TV programme Virtuosos Domingo and Dimash were judges. Domingo asked Dimash to sing a duet with him. Dimash was sick, and only had one day to prepare, but still did a fantastic performance. It's important to understand that Dimash does not sing this in a full operatic voice. He sings it using a classical style yes, but does not go full on opera. He sings it with a brighter more open sound than you will hear from opera singers. This is likely because he has such an extensive training in other styles of singing and has such incredible control over what he sounds like. We can be sure that how he sang here was his own choice. If you hear opera singers singing the same aria they would sound very different to Dimash. Dimash sang it very clear and forward. Notice that he reins his power in when singing with maestro Domingo, who at 82 yrs old didn't sound quite as strong vocally here as he used to. Dimash respectfully holds back in order to try to match the level of Domingo's sound. Yet even so, you can hear his voice soar when he unleashes it in the climatic parts. It gave me the chills.

Tienes razón en tu pregunta, una vez leí una definición de un maestro que decía que Dimash parecía haber nacido con la celula madre del canto, como si solo tuviera que escoger que tipo de música va a cantar y la desarrolla como si nada! Creo que es una buena teoría! Por otro lado recibió todo el apoyo de una leyenda de la ópera , el maestro Placido Domingo! Plácido Domingo EL MAESTRO. Controlar la lírica es mucho más difícil q lo q ha hecho Dimash, sin quitarle mérito. Dimash cantaba más en vibrato,y le costaba más esas notas líricas q EL MAESTRO lo hacía con total naturalidad.Dimas sabe perfectamente q cantando con este gran genio d la ópera se le abren muchas puertas.

Estimada, permitame, sin quitarle merito a su mensaje, aclarar algunas cosas. El MAESTRO Placido Domingo es el MAESTRO Placido Domingo y de eso no hay duda, tiene mas de 50 años cantando opera asi que es el mas experimentado aqui, sin embargo el mismo le dijo a Dimash que en este dueto cantara la parte de tenor y que el cantaria la parte de barítono ya que en esta cancion especifica ya el no llegaba a la voz aguda a la cual llegaba cuando estaba mas joven, si se dan cuenta en todas las actuacones del maestro Placido en los ultimos años ha hecho voz mas de tenor dramatico o baritono que de tenor ligero como antes hace años hacía... Dimash es entrenado en canto lírico y no le costaba llegar a ninguna nota lírica y si sabes de canto lírico la mayoria de las notas liricas tienen ese vibrato característico el cual Dimash hace a la perfeccion. Aqui los dos son unos MAESTROS la diferencia es que uno se ha dedicado toda su vida a la Opera y otro no...

Dimash ni siquiera está cantando full opera style, lo cual podría hacer perfectamente ya que ha recibido entrenamiento en canto lírico desde los 5 años y fue propuesto para cantar en la ópera de Astana. Sin embargo, rechazó la oferta porque no quería encasillarse en un solo género. Aquí está cantando a su estilo, no al de Plácido. Si quisiera, podría sonar mucho más potente y sobrepasar al maestro, pero es demasiado humilde y respetuoso de los mayores como para querer destacarse. El propio Plácido dijo que ya no podía cantar como tenor y llegar a esas notas, y por eso Dimash hizo esa parte, pero ni siquiera se acerca a desplegar todo su arsenal vocal en esa canción, no hay nota por baja o alta que le cueste con su enorme rango vocal.

No estoy criticando mal a Dimash q m parece de otro planeta.quizas m explicado yo mal.contemos con la edad q por supuesto es importante ya q Plácido Domingo a la edad d Dimash era un mostró d la ópera. A lo q quería sobresalir es q cantar con el MAESTRO es un salto enorme para Dimash. Y..una no h comentado, es q cuando tú haces una crítica para buen o para mal ,lo digo por ..como se llama? ... bueno el americano.tienes q saber quien canta con Dimash y saber por lo menos, algo de su carrera. No puedes decir..ah! Q había alguien q cantaba con el!!! Quien es?.. hay q informarse primero para hacer un comentario razonable equilibrado y justo.

Uma atuação magnífica de dois gênios de gerações diferentes. Na minha opinião, este dueto ficará para a história da música clássica mundial. O maestro, assim que conheceu Dimash, o convidou para cantarem juntos. Um grande desafio para Dimash, aprender esta ária francesa em um dia, um ensaio e tossindo muito. E o resultado: uma performance brilhante ao lado do lendário maestro Plácido Domingo!

Two living legends! With Heavy Metal, Classical/Opera is my favorite genre of music(go figure!). I prefer German Opera, but Bizet is a great composer as well, Carmen being my favorite Opera of his. Maybe you should listen to Der Erlkönig (Schubert) sung bu legendary baritone Dietrich Fiescher-Dieskau. It's only him and a piano. Now pay attention to the piano piece, and imagine the partition played on an electric guitar, with distortion. It is a banger! 🤘

Better yet, see Matthew polenzani on stage at Lyric Opera chicago. Dmitry hvorovstovsky and jonas kaufman best ever in recital. Dimash no passion, bad French and too fast. Check out alfredo Krause, Lawrence Brownlee at wheaton College better

This is a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo. He dreamed from then to now to meet and work with the Maestro. This was part of a program called Virtuosos, which supports young classical artists. Dimash was invited to be a judge on the program by Maestro Domingo. I know he appreciated the opportunity to support young artists. We are all do proud of him and hope all his dreams come true. Dimash learned this in one day and had only one rehearsal.
