THE STORY OF PEGGY AND MOLLY
A BIG welcome to all new people arriving here & following our page .
We wanted to put together the story of Peggy and Molly for you to enjoy . Also for all our loyal followers who have enjoyed the ride thus far sit back and enjoy a recap over the years with many more adventures to come . . . .
It was a warm Sept day back in 2020 while walking Peggy at our local park we saw a baby bird alone on the ground.
After waiting around for hours we noticed the parents in the tree but did not want to go near this little bird , so we made the decision to rescue this little fledgling being very aware that this was an off leash dog park the afternoons became a playground of many different breeds of excitable dogs no bird would survive that so we took this fluff ball home and nursed it back to health.
When Molly first swooped into our lives, Peggy was a little unsure about the feathered visitor but after only 3 weeks Peggy started producing milk & Molly was drinking from Peggy .
A little concerned and shocked we took Peggy to the vet and they confirmed she was having a phantom pregnacy and prescribed a t-shirt to stop Molly suckling on her teats .
This secured an immediate bond between the two unlikely friends from that day on & Molly thought Peggy was his mum .
The next few weeks I couldn’t believe my eyes .
An English staffy with the jaws strong enough to crush a little bird and a magpie snuggling together & asleep with Molly resting his beak on Peggys nose . Peggy would put a tiny little stick in her mouth while looking at Molly wanting him to play , Peggy would adjust her play and always be so gentle .
Their favourite thing to do together is to sunbake. Peggy just loves it and Molly just opens up her wings and they lie there together .
They also loved to play with toys
Peggy had a litter of pups August 2021 we kept the only girl Ruby .
They are now best friends too
The trio are the most unlikely friends you have seen but their bond will never be broken
