Another great video Pete. I've seen the otherside of the coin here in the UK too. I run a Private investigations company - we recently had a large group of Thai girls involved in the "escorting industry" here in the UK under surveillance. They worked in South Korea initially for several years, before coming to the UK via an "agent" who's also Thai but living here with her farrang husband. He was a big part of the operation too. They would pay £15k upfront, then the remainder of the 15k once here in the UK to the agent (the boss lady). Once the police finally moved in and raids had been carried out it became quite clear they'd all been here for many years, over staying their tourist visas by many years some of them. There was also many tens of thousands of pounds in cash confiscated and post office receipts totalling over 250k in cash deposits via Post office and Western Union. For the most part the girls would have 15-20 clients a day at an average of £150 per hour. They'd rent nice apartments on Air BnB and stay a month at a time before moving to another town. Often affluent areas. They'd soon pay their debt off and actually live a very lavish life here. I'd often spend Saturday afternoons following them around Selfridges as they splash out on Gucci, Louis Vuitton and other expensive items, always paying cash. I watched one purchase an £8000 watch one afternoon! They still remain here to this day such is the state of the immigration system and many thousands of illegals waiting to be processed and deported. The girls continue to work quite happily with their middle fingers up at the UK system as they continue to try and gain British citizenship claiming if they return to Thailand they'll be killed by mafia bosses - which of course is a crock of shit! Totally bizarre and very frustrating. This myth that these girls are trafficked here against their will is exactly that, for the most part they come here willingly and are reasonably happy doing so, knowing once they land on British soil they've hit the big time! 💰 🤑 💸 💲 🪙 💶

I also travelled the world 20 years ago and I was arranged to be taken to a rural village in Prey Veng (Cambodia) to be murdered, due to knowledge of the remaining Kmer Rouge regime. These sort of things did happen in days gone bye. Please please do some more videos, they are so enthralling to us old travellers, who did it before the help of the internet.

Hello Pete, this interview was a bit distressing about Paul. Taking sex workers all over the world. This business is one that goes down through time. It is one of the oldest profession since the beginning of time. I look at it the different way. What if it is my daughter. I have known of a lot of cases, where women have taken the easy way. Some of them have done well and changed their lives. But some of them , switched to drugs and ruined their lives. There is one case I know. This friend of mine, his daughter had a great job, but got into the wrong company and got into drugs. Now to pay for her bad habit. She left her good job and started prostitution. The whole family fell apart. When he told me about it. It broke my heart. Although I worked alot. I always kept my eyes on my 2 kids. Today I am proud of them. But the empire I built for them. I lost it all in my divorce. Never mind. I believe God is great.

You can always do interviews with Paul, as he is a fascinating, good speaking and great story 'bringer', with a good heart, - I just like him. Your interviews with him had been never boring and I always looked them straight to the end and was thinking why is the time flown so fast, just great - thank you for bringing Paul in again. He the kind of man some can listen to for hours and it never gets 'old'. I really do like this guy, I am 60 years myself and live in Northeast Thailand for 32 years, but always worked abroad around the world, in the construction management business...- so at my age and living long in Thailand and my world travel experience, we have kind of similarities and I can very relate to his life... I read the comments here and there are a lot of people who do not believe Paul, because of this and that - but why not take it in the same spirit as the movie - "The Life of Pi" - at the end of this wonder-full movie - the viewer has two options believe the story as is or make it the 100 percent sure version, and you have to ask yourself what's the difference, which version you like more - as both versions telling the same content!

Damn, looking at the comments this one was controversial! Personally I loved it and could listen to Paul tell stories all day. Of course we can't know for certain the truth or otherwise of the stories, but that's true of lots of stuff on KZfaq including some of the other guests Pete has interviewed. Like most people I'm appalled by human trafficking but that doesn't mean the story any less interesting. Pete, I hope you keep interviewing people from all walks of life, don't restrict yourself to those with 100% moral purity and uncontroversial opinions. I enjoy hearing from a rich tapestry of personalities. BTW, would be interesting to interview someone who works for an embassy. Undoubtedly there'll be things they can't talk about but I'm sure they'll be able to have enough to say to make for a great interview, esp. considering all the kinds of situations they have to deal with.

wow, what a story tonight. the music Born Slippy by Underworld comes to mind. feels like a scene out Trainspotting when Renton says "The truth is that I'm a bad person. But that's going to change. I'm going to change." Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a f*cking big television.... Choose your future. Choose life.

100% rubbish. Seem to meet loads of them in Thailand! He should go and sit in a bar in Pattaya, seems like Mecca for shit talking there.

Another good one Pete. He is very convincing isn't he. This Jim guy I have a hard time believing He told him all these details. There probably was a lot of this seedy stuff going on.
