► Wilderness areas are vast expanses of land whose beauty attracts millions of people all over the world every year. For some, this is a place of tranquillity and peace, for a select few though, these forests present them with an experience that not only baffles them, but investigators too. In the cases we’re about to discuss, one unsettling thread ties them together, the idea that the people missing never believed that they were truly alone....

Hey all, Each individual in this video vanished under strange circumstances and whether found or not, believed that in some fashion, they had been followed / stalked / generally were not alone during the duration of their time spent missing. There are truly some pretty weird ones in here. Be safe all & have a great weekend

It would be funny for behavioural scientists to discover that bears have secret society roles for the forest, like 'the human sweep' patrol that wanders looking for stray humans, only to return them to what they think of as the 'designated drop-off point'. I like to picture some daddy bear on patrol, calling the wife like "yeah, i'mma be late. Gotta pop these kids in the return slot."

It’s called third man syndrome. Alpine hikers discovered this decades ago. The voice giving you good advice and encouragement is supposed to be your unconscious mind drawing from places you never actively think about, but that person shows up when you need each other. Like having a gut feeling, but Pixar got a hold on it.

@adambrain8365 Hey, thanks for the message. Oddly, i wasn't in that desperate situation at the time. I had it a few times over the 2 years i was travelling and leading up to it. I felt very stuck in life, having bad dreams, very trapped by circumstances, etc, and the voice would pop up at the most random moments...say very little, and yet it was always the best of advice. The one time i didn't listen, tho i sprained my ankle so badly, i put myself on crutches for 6 weeks, which is zero fun when back packing 🤣

The police interview with Eddy is *super interesting* and weird. There’s something wrong with him and his sister, like mentally. Or maybe it’s drugs. Eddy is a weird person and he says weird stuff. Their stories don’t fully match but the stuff that shouldn’t, did match. They see cars and people which could have obviously helped their predicament but they didn’t approach them “cuz her feet hurt from all the walking” (this is 3 days lost, btw). They also thought the car was a hallucination. But how do they both hallucinate the same thing? Everything is weird and I can’t decide if I believe them or not (I don’t. They are weird) because the interview is…. WEIRD! Check it out if you all have time. Not sure what Eddy’s last name is but sister’s name is Linda Atrega.
@jesseb5076
@jesseb5076 10 ай бұрын
Yeah for me there has to be drugs involved because the hallucinations thing just didn’t make sense. There is point where they said one of them ate some berries or something that made them hallucinate yet apparently only one of them ate the berries yet they both hallucinated?. He had actually been charged with murder before where he said the guy shit himself with his gun 🤔 He actually left it a whole day and a half before he contacted the police as well. Very strange and odd people .

With regards to the first incident... there's a small copse of trees on the edge of my town with a path that leads over the river and towards a neighbourhood on the far side of town. Most people don't use it especially at night. About twenty years ago a friend I knew used to walk that way to and from, at night to visit his then girlfriend. He always used to say that there were people standing among the trees silently watching him. I always thought it was his imagination, One night I went that way to visit a friend and although I never saw anybody, there was a definite sense of a presence or of people watching me. Very uncomfortable. Never went that way by night ever again.

it could be something similar to a "dark watcher" phenomenon. no one is sure what they are but in some areas of the USA, especially the mountains in CA people see dark shadowy human figures (even with hats) just staring, but when you get closer they vanish. some theories is its a type of mirage, but of course paranormal theories abound as well. all it takes is for you to think someones watching for us to get freaked out.

I can vouche for how vivid sleep deprivation hallucinations can be and how easy it is for them to occur. I used to work a night shift and starting off I couldn't adjust so I ended up sleeping maybe 4 or so hours a night. It took a few weeks to hit, but I would see simple shadows as full on people and things like that, its kinda surreal and scared me at first. truck drivers i know often have to work long long hours and sleep deprivation is not uncommon. I'm very happy that the police did as much as they did for the last person, with offering to take him to the hospital and checking for drugs, etc. so many cops would just dismiss him outright.

I live in St Joe Arkansas. This first story is very strange, because there is no way you could get lost here. The park land is very small, and the rest is all cow pastures and farm houses. I've tried to find a camping spot to get away from the sounds of traffic and civilization, but it's virtually impossible. Wouldn't be surprised if substances were involved...

He didn't confirm that his sister was sitting on the porch, or go make sure she was ok??? What kinda brother acts like that? He didn't ask about her or tell someone their story?? Very bizarre indeed! Maybe the folks in the woods that Linda saw were some type of alien or cryptid. Let's not just skip to drug use. Many possibilities. 😎

Animal behaviorist here! It is true that bears are not known to behave in this way. However there are numerous examples throughout history of wild animals acting entirely out of character when faced with lost human children. There was a case in Uganda where vervet monkeys looked after a small boy for an extended period of time. And another such occurrence which took place in India saw wolves treat a child in this manner. With that said I believe Casey when he says a bear took care of him.
@sophie4636
@sophie4636 13 күн бұрын
I don't think folk respect what children say sufficiently. Adults are so quick to dismiss what they say as imagination or lying, but children are super smart. They aren't liars (until taught by adults there's no point telling the truth 🙄🙄). I've always noticed animals generally have a sensitivity to baby mammals and they know children are infant mammals and can behave quite differently around them so I'm glad to hear my personal observations validated by an animal behaviourist!!!

It was a ghost robber!"

Yeah, I definitely get what you're saying. Especially when I watch "haunting " type stories. I absolutely without a doubt believe in supernatural occurances and also believe there are probably a great deal of people vanishing under strange or unexplainable circumstances, however..I have a lot of skepticism when learning about such stories. Especially when the families have a huge arsenal of information on the occurances and what not.

*I have some personal info on Linda and eddy. I saw some comments from people who knew Linda and eddy* . They were an ER nurse in their town and said the whole family was VERY VERY slow and also meth users. They said the three boys in the family would be in the ER constantly because they would fight with eachother over who got to SLEEP with their mom that night. As adults. And not sleep like sleep next to but have sex with. If you watch Eddie’s interofstion he’s high on meth (they likely both were) and he’s very slow already. When you do meth you see shadow people. That’s typical. So without food and water and high on meth for days it’s no surprise Linda thought she saw shit. People see shit in their homes and in bed. But they went into the woods with NO WATER or FOOD and FLIP FLOPS. They had very little survival techniques. But she was able to collect water and eat berries.

@TOP MYSTERIES I am a native of eastern North Carolina and to answer one of your questions....NC is home to the black bear, and most of the bears do hibernate (esp females) but their hibernation is much shorter than bears up north. Coastal NC temps do get cold but we dont have weeks and weeks of frigid temps...it fluctuates. We might have a week of freezing temps and then warm up to the 50's for a week so our bears hibernate late Nov to March/April. Whats interesting is, where Casey is from is exactly where the most black bears in NC are located...4 bears per square mile!! The other interesting thing is...the area where Casey was has had plenty of bigfoot and dogman sightings/encounters....and just an interesting bit of info is, Craven county is very old and historical place...founded in 1712 as the capitol of the colony of NC and the very first capitol of what would become the USA!!! Blackbeard the pirate was from nearby Bath, NC so for those who believe in paranormal things this are is well known for its ghost legends mand hauntings. Personally, I would NEVER want to be lost in that swamp!!!

The girl from the Radio men story or whatever, those doughnuts she found was almost definitely a hunter or hikers cache lol. I think drugs play a more common role in these stories than we think. "They wanted to hurt me. I have no reason to believe it and have no evidence it even happened but i used 'deer senses' to magically know the mystery woodsmen were out to hurt me" Yeah man drugs are a real problem in this country. And could probably explain a HUGE amount of unexplained disappearences and deaths.

Interesting take on drugs. We grew up in the Pasadena area of California and we often went up the Angeles Crest to local drinking/partying spots. My friends would drink ( I was often the mandatory designated driver, going off of a cliff up there while driving at night is a real possibility) and we often encountered people who claimed they were "tripping" in the outdoors. I guess druggies must think the forests or deserts are good places to imbibe, I think it is foolish.

If children have been looked after by a bear, shouldn't they have bear hair on their clothing? Even if they weren't in direct contact some hair should have been transferred.

I think the part that really kind of irritated me is how the FBI didn't go into more depth with some the questioning. How did you eat? What did you eat? How were you kept warm? Who left you dangling in this spot, where I had to cross deep water to get to you? The "Bear man" was enough. To be honest, I think I'd be done for the day, too, after hearing that response, lol.

The first story. For whatever reason,Linda and Eddie have mental cognitive deficiencies. A recording of Eddie will explain what I'm talking about. He speaks almost childlike. This could explain why Linda could only describe the "People" she saw as "Weird". They clearly were not mentally sound.

I think Donald might have been sleep deprived or having a mental break. I've seen people have mental breaks before but from what ive seen they usually start with small unrecognized episodes before a trigger sets off a major one. One no one sees coming because they didnt realize what was happening in the beginning. And like Ive said many times before, if we cant get bizzare I dont even want to be involved! 😊

My thoughts exactly. There are many examples of animals fostering other species because they had been orphaned. I think it's ridiculous how quickly they dismissed this poor child's account of what happened. Whether it was a bear or not, something or someone cared for that baby while he was lost.

@@Rick-ve5lxThis is actually a very good theory. Maybe this “wild” man was putting him in places for the searchers to find (tips being called in of a crying child during the search at different spots). When searchers didn’t find him, the man would retrieve the boy and try to find the searchers again and another spot to put him. Doing it this way ensures he isn’t discovered, as obviously he’s living in the woods to be away from civilization.

Eddie saw the people who wouldn't respond too. At one point they were standing on a bluff over a river and could see a pickup truck on the other side with people swimming in the river. The next day they discovered the river was dry. I listened to the police interrogation of Eddie and he seemed to be mentally challenged. The first person to alert the police that there was a situation referred to Eddie and his sisters as crazy people.

&Top Mysteries I have heard of reports of strange things happening to ppl within the forest where they crossed some unseen barrier where suddenly it went from daytime to dusk as well as others where ppl were found by search & rescue on places that had already been searched before with the hikers saying that they could see the S&R's, call out to them but they were ignored as if they couldn't be heard or seen. Other hikers watching S&R's walk right by them without noticing. This might explain why some S&R dogs will hunt only to stop & sit down as if they had lost the scent but perhaps the reason these dogs were sitting down was because they found the hiker that was invisible to everyone else. Just imagine it you are the hiker & you tell everyone that you walked right past me, I screamed at you but you ignored me & because the S&R's know that they didn't see or hear you then they would think you've lost it because you're delirious from being lost for several days.

Can everyone understand that channels like The Missing Enigma, etc...don't even know about most of these cases until they are shown on CanAmMissingProject by David Paulides, Missing 411. So many channels get most of their missing people cases from his research. If it wasn't for David Paulides most of these channels would not even exist. Just saying give credit when it's due. Top Mysteries has mentioned and given credit to Mr. Paulides and this is a good channel.

At night time it's pitch fucking black, like so black you can't see your hand in front of your face so how could she have been able to see the ppl and the other way around? I am not seeing she's lying not by any means I'm just wondering how she was able to determine these things we're looking at her.? He would have had to have been really close to her fuck the idea of that completely freaks me out. Thank Christ I don't live in the Ozarks!!! Greg in Vancouver Canada

Leaving your back back behind, with all the trappings needed for your survival, just to gain a step or two on perceived pursuers, doesn't seem to me behavior exhibited by a rationally thinking person. But Ms.Lindsay's story about finding stale donuts hidden in a tree in the middle of the woods seems like a temporary break from reality to me...

I can report that a starvation induced psychosis may bring on hallucinations, auditory or visual. It happened to me. I was eventually rescued by helicoptor by the Park Service. When I got back home and in my appartment I was still hearing things. A psychiatrist said she believed my hallucianations were because I ran out of food, thus a starvation induced psychosis.

The FBI will get involved in missing children’s cases for kids under 12 even if a crime isn’t suspected. The local agency will call for help because the FBI has better resources. Also, as the agent said, if a disappearance happens on federal land. A crime isn’t always required.

With the first story. What happened is he seemed to fall asleep and she could not wake him. And so she went off to “find help” but he woke up and she was gone and he did not fully remember falling asleep hence his confusion of that circumstance. And no I think they saw the spirits. And the spirits mostly ignored them. And so they didn’t know what to make of it. The spirits of the earth are absolutely real. Visible does not always necessarily mean physical or material. And if you peer into the darkness of our forests you will certainly not find yourself entirely alone. And I am not referring to the inevitable animals one finds generally outdoors almost anywhere on earth. I’m referring to something just as ancient nevertheless. Only a fool would say that they do not exist. Even while simultaneously being surrounded by them every day of their physical lives. Who here is negligent. I would say the one that denies the truth. I have seen and so I know for certain. Although many have not. Does not change the facts. With the bear story I am with the sheriff and the family. I would say that it was an angel in the form of a bear so that the child might understand without fully understanding. Makes excellent and perfect sense to me. An angel is just a super powered spirit. That is all. And will harm no one. But the forest spirits? Do not trust them. For what it’s worth these people told the truth. They saw exactly what they said they saw. I think that we should believe them. These events were entirely isolated one from another. Yet they all say the exact same things in various ways. P.S. There are also other things in our woods beside the spirits. But of those I am not certain. They are wary. And intelligent. And can cover vast distances in short time. Therefore be wary when entering any wood. Especially now. I am sure our friendly federal agents would in fact agree.

When my friends and I used to play games in the local forest at night I once saw figures in the shadows near the bush and call out to them though they didn't move or react. They looked like people but I couldn't be sure. I got disturbed by this and ran along and told my friends when I'd actually found them.

Listening various missing stories. - one story (KZfaq: the leaf) about park ranger. He mentioned, number of higher rank rangers entered to search a hiker. He noticed one man with a clipboard stayed away from other searchers. He tried to talk to clipboard man. At one point he heard clipboard man standing behind him, and said - cougar. To the ranger. Ranger turned around wondering where did the clipboard man go. But few yards away ranger saw a large cougar…. As ranger was staying fire lookout tower, unusual and weird things happened. Makes me wonder when FBI appears to missing searches. Are they acting like normal people or avoiding contact, questions and staying away from others?

For the second story with Casey I think it's impossible to claim a be wouldn't do that (it's not like we test these things and just abandon kids in the woods to check how bears react to them and get enough data to say what their norm is). It also may have been a younger bear, maybe an orphan, but still would be large compared to Casey. Or even a man who chose to live off the grid and just took care of him as best he could until he found an area to drop him off where he'd be likely to be found by the rescue workers, but still wants to stay alone in the woods. The reason I lean more towards an actual bear is the fact he did have minor injuries, like the frostbite on the tips of his fingers, and it took so long to find him. I think even a hermit would know the area well enough to plop the kid down on an access trail and wait until people were about to come rather than just wandering around aimlessly. And no, I don't entertain supernatural ideas, I do not believe in aliens (as conspiracy people think of them) or bigfoot or those kinds of things.
