"Chai Tea" means "Tea Tea", you can call it "Chai". Also, many foreigners say "Naan Bread" which means "Bread Bread".

Please visit the Southern states of India i.e. Karnataka , Kerala , Tamil Nadu . Here ancient sites which are 1000s of years old are preserved . Do hire a local guide in these states . They show many more tourist destinations with detailed background info than available on the net . People here know English well and there wouldn't be any communication barrier.
