No bc even if you have curly hair try to make sure your hair is damp and use a blow dryer on the braids on a low setting. You don't want your hair to stay wet for the whole night bc yes it could actually be damaging

my sister has curly hair and she manages to have it really long, as she’s 9 years old my nana still does her hair but what my nana does is plaits it into two plaits and my sister wears the plaits everyday, never changes her hairstyle and it has got her hair to grow downwards instead of outwards x

Let me stop you right there ✋ Never braid your hair when it’s that wet and leave it for long hours. NEVER. If it’s slightly damp because you want to get waves or such, that’s OK. But keeping your hair that wet all night long will lead to breakage. Not my words, but the words of dermatologists.

This actually works I never used to have curly hair. I always had thin straight straight straight straight hair, but after this routine that I did before school because I would shower every night I put my hair in a braid and now all I have to do is shower get out the shower blow dry my hair and my hair is curly, like wavy almost. Like what! It’s not like ringlets it’s a beautiful beach wave kind of curl 🌊 definitely recommend 👍👍

The oil probably helps the growth braids it doesn't speed up any growth but when braiding its easier access to put oil in hair but put it through the whole head starting from roots then go through the hair all the way to the end
