The Perfect Elk Hunt, Packed Out on Horses

Maybe one of our most favourite hunts, bugling elk right from the house. That was only half the fun, having the whole family to help load it onto horses and pack it right to our front door made it perfect.
Elk is perhaps the best wild game and its been years since we've had any. It took a great shot with the Tikka 7mm and some hard work by the girls to bring home a years worth of meat.

What a wonderful father / daughter moment, calling the elk back to the river and Sarah taking the perfect shot. Having the hunt so close to home made it so easy for the entire family to join in and dress the meat. The horses are such a necessity in your area, much more reliable than a 4x4 for getting around the difficult terrain. Love how happy Rose was to hear Sarah had been so successful and at the thought of more meat for the freezer.

Rose is one in a million. Has 5 daughters and raises them so well. Kids today are so entitled and spoiled. Some are even very lazy. Your family is a prefect example of how to live the good life.

I hunted with my father and grandfather when I was younger and it is one of the things I miss the most these days. They are both gone now and in my mid-40's I yearn to share this experience, just once with my teens. Don't know if you all read each of these comments, but if you do, thank you for sharing this special moment with your audience. By happenstance I found your channel and I have binge watched nearly every episode. Lovely, just lovely!

Terrific way to live life ! Your family has such a great attitude! I love B.C. ! Quite a few years back I took my spouse and my very young son on a canoe trip to the Bowron lake circuit, such beautiful country! We live in the Key peninsula in Washington state ! Now my boys are in college & asking me to take them hunting! Looking forward to being in the woods with them ! Keep the videos coming! Never got to do a single event with all my family members all at the same time and we have 7 boys and one girl parents got divorced when I was about two yrs old..so when I see your family doing this hunt with all evolved brings joy to my heart..I’m now 67 yrs old and already lost four members..

I was So excited! Calling that elk right up to y'all. Your daughter lining up her shot, taking her time and then taking the shot. Crossing and finding the elk right there, Great shot placement. Then the greeting the young huntress got from Mom. The whole family all doing something to bring home the meat. This all made for quiet a video! Congratulations to you all. God bless you. What a wonderful life you guys have given your precious daughters. Your making Memories that they will have for a lifetime. Well done Mom And Dad. Your teaching your daughters where their food comes from. Meat doesn’t magically arrive on your table. Someone has to kill it, dress it out, butcher it. I remember packing out an elk after it had been quartered that my dad shot here in Colorado that was exhausting and it was maybe only half a mile. Sure miss my dad and the great memories. What a fantastic family you all have!
