Chromatic scales with the 1-2-3 finger are amazing to strengthen the fingers. Make sure that the faster you go, the more stacato the notes have to sound and less time is spent in the contact with the keys. Also practicing with 3-4-5 for chormatic is good. I usually warm up with the arpeggios of Op 10 No1 bu Chopin for the right hand. after I learnt those arpeggios, there was very little repertoire I couldn't play. For the left hand I practice the Revolutionary Etudes first arpeggios and I'm good to go. Wonderful exercises.

I did this for 10 minutes everyday, just after stretching my hands ( GuitarLessons365) and it helped a lot getting familiar with this kind of exercises and with getting my hands ready. HOWEVER something that is really not highlighted enough is that you have to do these *correctly* and you should not go for speed. I had to relearn how to do these at about *65 BPM* (always use a metronome while practicing!) and I'll bump up the BPM accordingly whenever I'll get really familiar with it. Also I feel the arpeggios and scales should ascend and descend.

This was very very helpful. I tried to watch a bunch of different videos for warm ups and they all went too fast and into more "complex" theory... I really enjoyed that this video was attainable for me and I could understand everything even though I've only been playing piano for one month and three weeks now!! I can imagine at any level of piano these are useful practises as well which makes it even better. Thanks so much for creating this 🙏🙏 I was so confused before on what to do when I first sat at my new piano 😅😅

I said I disagree with the part about being sloppy . Take your time and make sure that you're hitting is what you wanted to hit if you're doing octaves and jumping up and down back and forth and make sure that you're getting that distance proper every time . The more you focus on accuracy the more quickly accuracy will find you. When playing piano, accuracy is everything. Speed is obtained through muscle memory. And muscle memory can be obtained by playing at any speed. And once again an excellent video. Thank you very much

I'm the same, but opposite. I teach piano, and just got the guitar, and what the hell? 😂 knowing theory and a different instrument just isn't enough. I've had quite the time trying to play the guitar. Although, scales are easier on the guitar, because the shapes are all the same. Chords are a pain in the rear though.
