Fortunately you can still build a very strong build without fire weapons since his passive just grants flat damage. I’ve had good runs by going Poison weapons with DoT synergy and a bunch of extra mana stars. Corrosion gives “more” damage to generic “DoT” too.

@@ShinnyMetal That reminded me the other day playing the Gunslinger, by the end of the run I didn't even remember what class I was. The game refuses to co-operate lol I was a gunslinger with magic and melee because the game refused to give me any good guns/upgrades

@@RobotnikPlngasYeah, the classes used to have weapon type specific passives before the update. I think Gunslinger did a reload on dash or something. Most of the time you will end up with a completely different setup than what you started with lol

@@brandonkruse6412 Funny you say that, literally just finished a run as the bard, who ended up with a Scythe. I had to do the bard mission and I wanted to do a full-bard build but nope. No instruments in 5 runs before I gave up.

@@nathanielm9150 It went really well! It's not pure pyro, I still poke them with spear/pike and I trained Shotgun & Handgun for backup or for fighting in precious building like hospital/mansion. But, it's hugely pyro. Surprisingly, I've only got 6 hours in the run give or take, and I haven't got hit once in melee despite the occasional daring kiting 😂 Pros: +Fire. +Killing Zombie Children by luring them into fire doesn't count as you killing them as long as you don't ever hit them with anything. As such, you're free from the annoying early game emotional damage. +Fire. They burn. +Fun, and many more. Cons: -You're not fireproof, you can get damaged by your own fire. Especially if it gets too big. The heat is enough to damage you. -WATER!! I NEED TO DRINK MORE WATER!!! (After awhile, I started to sweat so much it's not even funny) -Slower gameplay. -Mi-Go don't step in the fire. They're just... chilling(?) when fire is lit between it and the player character. Bcs of that, you can't kill them unless you waste bullets or poke them with spear. The good side is, well, you can just run away lol For build, I went 8 STR, DEX, PER, and 12 INT for roleplay reason, spent 1 point on Social, also for roleplay reason. For positive traits, I took Quick, Fleet-footed, Indefatigable (for burning and running tactic), Fast Learner (because it's a must have) Heat tolerance (for obvious reason), and Addiction resistance (I light cigarette, then throw the lit cigarette often. Don't want it to trigger addiction, or if it does trigger, it doesn't stay long). That's 12 pts total. For negative traits, I took Pyromaniac obviously, and the rest are just your usual stuff. Frail, Glass Jaw, Far-sighted or Near-sighted (forgot), and Poor Hearing. That's 12 pts, Pyromaniac included. Btw, the roleplay is, "Average Joe with big brain and pyromaniac tendency", and the gameplay really reflects it. My character sucks at melee, and is not very capable gunman, but fights with fire strats. Why take social, then? Well, Average Joe needs to be able to hold a conversation the way the average people does! I took "Pretty" instead of "Addiction Resistance" at first, for pretty much no reason, but the addiction was quite annoying. So, I restarted and took the latter trait instead. I'm not pretty anymore, but hey, better ugly than junkie I forgot the backgrounds, but I definitely took Caffeine addiction and Butchering (+4 to pts reserve that I used for the +4 INT). I think I took Sleeping Pill Dependence Trained throwing, too, just so I can accurately throw my lit cigarette/bottle of booze, then later Molotov cocktail lol Early game, I don't have cigarette, so I just light up bushes/underbushes then kite the zombies there. After awhile, it was fun burning house or field of grass. It gets stupid pretty quick. Small medication bottles? Don't throw them away. Fill them with alcohol/booze and throw them into small fire if needed Digging some pits, filling them with straw/leaves, and lighting them also works wonder. Especially against horde, or if you don't want to go ham in your early arson career. It's reusable, too. Just dig outside the city, light them, blow a whistle to get the horde's attention, then kite them. Get this formation of pit: O O O O O O O O O O O So you can manoeuvre around them. Eleven pits is good, but 7 works, too. You can go wider, too, but it's a bit excessive, I think. The fiery pit kills fast, that's how I survived a horde of 30 zombies this way. And that's all completely firearms-free! Only fire, real fire 🔥. And pit. Gotta give it a credit, too. Needs one day preparation, tho. Digging 11 pits is exhausting, but can be reused until you cleaned the whole vicinity of the pits, and some more if you're willing to kite more. This method preserves zombie's corpse, and thus preserves its loot. It's better when you're in need of more cigarettes or something
