The image quality is superb and the "patter" is really fun and yet they still talk about all the facts necessary to get the job done. And of course they remember the "decals", Chris and Beck, you guys are great!

This is the problem with ARB's they always crack right at the collar. I ran them in my Land Cruiser 80 series, happen twice on the front and once on the rear. Failure was always at the collar right where your's failed. You can repair the old one by soldering it and use it as a backup for when this one fails. I'm sure you are aware of all of this Chris..:) but other's might not be. I like your idea of using the socket to make a radius bend right out of the collar.

Good job on replacing that line! Most likely the reason it failed is that with that much copper line hanging around, it’s moving around a lot. This leads to the brazed joint fatiguing and eventually failing. To prevent future failure, it would be best to either restrain the line close to the brazed joint, or route the air line above the R&P so it has a shorter run and less mass to move around. Good work none the less and those NV skids look amazing!
@txtardis7887
@txtardis7887 2 жыл бұрын
Also by routing above R&P the line will interfere much less with how the oil flows inside, to help keep things lubed and cool. An inch long ziptied piece of fuel line over the copper tube at the base where brazing is should absorb & reduce the movement of the tube at the base as well.

Those skid plates looked good. Skid plates are definitely worth the money. I have installed a bunch of skid plates on my Colorado (not as many choices as a Jeep). Only one left is to do something for my gas tank. Taking the stuff off the undercarriage of the Jeep, I would have probably ended up with some of that dirt in my eye.

Nice content as always, but one small point of criticism. It will be better to go over the ring gear with the copper line and make a sharp bent out, than run the copper line all the way down the housing and up again. Due to the long "bowed" route, the copper line will break much faster because of the vibrations and movement of the axle. The shorter the route, the more sturdy it is.

In response to 13:20 with the difference between using brake cleaner and wd40 it's the same as try to clean your hands. Yes a solvent will clean it, but a lubricant will get under the grease and allow it to be lifted. Soaps are a lubricant for your hands to be cleaned, and wd40 and other products are a lot better than solvents for the big dirt and greasy jobs
