Kolinsky is a kind of Russian sable. Not as soft as squirrel but uniquely silky hairs that on top of that allow for precision - making them very special for perfect eyeliners, for example.

Yeah I’ve often wondered about that! Thanks for the tip - I always feel like “I’m cheating when I buy makeup brushes but skip art brushes because I should be painting much more!

What do you or how do you wash ?? Maybe a quick guiDE? I love the smaller crease brush. I have the ANGIE a504, A502. LOVE THEm. I wanted the new Wayne GOSS ones. They sold out separately. I do have the red blender with Sonia G. She actually gifted me 3 when she first came out with them. Yes. So sweet and kind. I cried. She loved my comment. I want Wayne’s and her Sky set

These brush vids are SO HELPFUL. Thank you for all the effort. I am a huge fan of the Angie Hot and Flashy set. Also, for an entry-level natural hair set is the rephr complete eye set. They sell at less than half price, and you get all their shapes. My next brushes I want to try are Sonia G.

Jennifer can you do a video on how to clean makeup brushes. I'm afraid to wash my brushes and they need to be washed. I washed brushes in past and they fell apart after spending lots of money on them I'm a bit concerned

Jen, I feel that unless one is a Professional MUA or is intensely obsessed with make-up, this variety of brushes are nowhere near needed. For the every day applicator who wears make-up to work, I'd be recommending something that will hold up to the amount of usage and cleaning that would be required. The majority of users really don't care about all of these different types of brushes, just as long as they do the job. I now live in a rural town where there would be a very rare few who would be concerned with brush types, especially due to the cost alone, despite the town being of a considerable size. Those who see my make-up collection almost faint at not just the size, yet the luxury brands that stare them in the face. Despite all of these luxury brands, I still do not believe that spending thousands on make-up brushes is at all required, especially if you know what you're doing. As an artist of several genres, I've never been told what brushes I should be using, it's simply up to us to find what's best for us to work with. There are so many variables that come into the use of make-up brushes. I do agree that with skin issues that especially soft brushes will be the best for the skin. Yet our faces and face shapes are just so different that it's impossible to recommend a certain shaped brush that my be suitable to you, compared to someone like myself who has a very different shaped face. I have a very small and narrow sized face with pronounced features and very small eyes and mouth. The angled brushes you recommend for highlighter, to me are blush brushes and some of those larger power brushes would no doubt suffocate me! I believe that more has to do with the technique of using a brush and less so the type of fibres. It's where to hold the brush, the type of pressure used, the angle at which to hold and so one. I already had a good collection of Réphr Brushes, yet purchased the Mini Eye Collection when released as it's not that easy to find such small brushes that are tapered to how I'd like them to be. At their recent Sale, I bought the entire Eye Brush Collection comprising of 18 brushes. This amounts to 28 brushes that Réphr have in stock just for the eyes! I realise you mentioned them a few times, yet believe they should have had more coverage to be inclusive of those who cannot afford the exorbitant prices of the other brands you focused on. I have quite a vast array of brushes from Natural to Synthetic. Most everyday users wouldn't even notice the difference. I understand that your Channel is a luxury based one, yet it should have been stated from the start that there are some very good brushes that are made by Indie Brands and others which are considerably cheaper than those you mentioned and should also be researched. Another big issue that I have is simply finding out whether a brush is made out of natural or synthetic, let alone what specific type of animal the bristle comes from. These details are not mentioned online, unless spending the big money. As I live a four hour one-way journey to just purchase luxury beauty, everything is bought online. To this day, I have not seen a brand that does not work in brushes alone, name where the bristles came from. It's hard enough in Australia to access beauty products, let alone be specific about brushes. As long as the brushes that I'm able to access do the job, I do not feel the need to pay for fox or squirrel etc. For an everyday user, I find this is going way overboard. I would dread to see people going directly to the brands that you've recommended, without even hearing of the endless other options available that work beautifully. Even applicators that are being included in palettes are getting very good in applying product. The use of brushes is a rather personal journey due to our differences in face shape and artistic direction. There really are no brushes you can recommend another due to these differences. Almost every brush you held up was not appropriate for usage on my face, most especially due to size. I did feel that you could have shown some fan brushes for information purposes and not dismiss them due to not using them yourself. Just as I was self-taught when it came to make-up application, I also taught myself about anything else that was needed, including brushes. If ever I required more information, I would seek out those who could actually see me and understand what I meant. Just as Skincare, Brush usage is also a personal journey. We learn ourselves what shaped brushes work best and if we feel we wish to spend more, we can do so if we wish when the time is right. Going straight towards a newly released Wayne Goss Brush Set is a mighty leap, especially with the price. Building up to where you find the types of brushes you may wish to explore is what I believe the best path to take is. Not leaping straight to the most expensive, especially at these times. It's a gradual journey and one that takes much research. I do appreciate that you explained the different types of bristles available and what they did, yet unfortunately, this doesn't help get them to whatever country we may be living in. Even on the second-hand market, the prices can be out of this world. I'm grateful for all of the trouble that you went to to make these two videos, yet I somehow think that I have far more brushes that I'll ever be needing! Thanks again for all the information.🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

@@robinhanscom1882 Thank you very much for making it through such a long comment! I didn't realise how much rambling I did. Most especially in these times, we do need to focus on what is the best inexpensive way to purchase brushes, not the most expensive.💖

Thanks! Most face brushes are too large for my small narrow face- a year ago I purchased that gorgeous Sonja G bronzer stand alone brush that was a mixture of hairs-so beautiful, but i had to return it because it was way too large for my little face😅 I love my Kazan eye brush.. wish I would have been able to pick up more of them because it’s my favorite brush.. so luxurious. I also love and cherish all of my Sonja G eye & face one, a few of her blush brushes & Rephrs

Those vermillion Kolinskys remind me of some of my paint brushes for water colors.

@@Loralarify I looked them up sometime ago and discovered a bunch of them available on Amazon. There were none for make-up usage, yet for artistry instead. They were exactly the same colouring too. When I started art, I went straight from pastels into using water colours as my next step. I didn't make it easy for myself. There really isn't that much difference between artist brushes and make-up ones. If you find the right shape, you can easily use them on the face. I've got fan brushes amongst my artist brushes too, so I guess they're very much interchangeable.💖
