Well...any of those would make me happy! On balance, I think the Formex would be my choice. Style, functionality, elegance, and all at a palatable price.

I was very confused the first time I saw the P01, it was like looking at something you know you should dislike., but the more you look the more you like. Now I unashamedly admit I love the P01. Great video armand

0:05 I have actually brought a sports watch beyond its true potential ;) I was back-country skiing, and the day after I noticed the accuracy/rate had become extreme and erratic. (Needed a service centre repair after.) It was a diver, and although it was a lower end piece, it was according to various forums renowned for its robustness. If you want true robustness in winter conditions you need to go quartz IMO. That's just my experience. I also know that my fathers Seiko quartz from the late 90s, has endured over 20 winter seasons with similar conditions and activities (maybe not quite as rough use as that particular instance, but similar use) that messed up my automatic diver, and it still runs fine.

mechanical watches have been thousands of feet underwater and to the summit of Everest. A properly built one will handle whatever you throw at it. Cold can also kill the batteries that power quartz watches. That being said, I have a 30-year-old quartz Tag Heuer (and a number of other quartz watches) that has never failed me and I love it.

@@pbuehner One of the many advantages of silicon technology is its stability when exposed to drastic variances in temperature. For a multitude of other complimentary reasons we have invested heavily in developing our own silicon escapement and it is found it all HORAGE timepieces.

@@pbuehner I had just replied so forgive me if this appears twice for whatever reason. We have invested heavily in the development of silicon escapement technology. One of the many advantages of silicon is its stability under extreme temperature variances. Every HORAGE watch even the latest tourbillon watch we are making has a silicon escapement. Other advantage of silicon are anti-magnetism, ability to increase run time and lower maintenance due to significantly reduced friction.

I took my seiko 5 automatic sports watch out skiing in minus 12 degrees C and it worked perfectly fine and continues to work fine. Its not even an ISO diver.

What i think is that you should do a video on the eterna with in house Swiss made automatic movement for only about$900.why no one has yet is beyond me.

Are there any qualification test such as COSC or other for mechanical and/or quartz watches at low temperature? Your e-site is #1👍

Our Autark 10 Year Anniversary timepiece comes with a COSC certification. The movement is the same K1 movement with a silicon escapement we use in all our HORAGE timepieces although due to additional cost of the certification we have limited it to our 10 Year piece. Therefore the Autark Armand shared in the video reaches COSC level performance just without the fancy paperwork.

I love Longines Hydroconquest and Formex but in this case I don't like that logo on dial,too big in my opinion. Thanks for this video and for sharing.

SEIKO lost me at the "scratchlex" aka hardened plain penny cheap glass. I once bought a seiko where the "softlex" chipped just on the first occasion where I did some work with having the watch on the wrist. The slit-eyed sapphire I replaced it immediately with still looks pristine. It's a real shame how this company still doesn't manage to funnel up some electric arcs and throws in some aluminium oxide powder.
