These MORINGA seeds were started just 9 days ago. I believe I have the near perfect method of getting them to germinate & survive throughout production in zone 8. If need be, I will make adjustments along the way.
Step 1. Soak seeds in warm water for 48 hours. Step 2. Drain water and spread seeds on a tray
lined with heavily moistened paper
towels.
Step 3. Cover seeds with heavily moistened
Paper towels & place in a warm
Location.
Step 4. Spray top layer of paper towels every
Morning & night until germination.
Never allow the paper towels to dry
out!
Step 5. Plant seedlings in a small container
When stems are between 1 - 2 inches
long. Place under grow lights
Immediately.
Step 6. Transplant outdoors once nighttime
Temperatures are consistently above
55 degrees F. In colder climates, grow
them in containers.
Step 7. Two weeks after transplant,
Fertilize with nitrogen (fish emulsion)
bi-weekly for a healthy crop.
Thank you so very much for watching & following our journey on the homestead.

OMG, i just ordered some moringa seeds, after researching herbs and plants for their medicinal purposes. Although I am up in years, I have received a feeling, calling, urge to get to eating home grown vegetables, herbs and using plants that i can for as many purposes as i can. I have been researching the moringa tree and in some research it is said the plant has 9 x more protein than yogurt, 10 x more vitamin A than carrots, 7 x more vitamin C than oranges, 17 x more calcium than milk, 15 x more potassium than banana s and 25 more iron than spinach. Although when used in a tea it is decaffeinated, it will give you increased energy too. So, it is a blessing for me that all of a sudden your channel came up for me. I was also researching best way to plant potatoes so, your channel is truly a blessing for me today. I will continue to watch your channel, thank you.

Mrs. H, I have been doing all of my seeds using the paper towel method since last year. I wet a paper towel (I squeeze out excess water) place my seeds on the paper towel and then fold and place inside of a plastic sandwich bag. This method is carefree. The plastic creates moisture. Within a week or two my seeds germinated depending of course on the seed. The ones that haven’t, it’s no biggie. At least I know before hand how many are ready to be planted. I’ve done the marketmore cucumber seeds, celery seeds, brandy wine tomatoe seeds that I got from you. They are doing great! The only challenge that I had was with the celery seeds becuz they are so tiny but I got them planted. I’ve only been gardening for about 3 years now and just beginning to feel comfortable planting seeds in the house and learning how to adjust my light as the seed germinates and starts growing. Thanks for your wonderful videos. Will be 74 this year and still learning! I love it 😊

I've been sticking cuttings in the ground to get more moringa and it works like magic. This spring I tried seeds but didn't know I needed to soak them first. I've had 4 out of 20 germinate and it's been almost 4 weeks! The seed starting mix has been kept damp but it's been sorry rate to grow. I'm going back to clipping a branch and sticking it in the ground. It is an amazing food and I love to pull off a branch's leaves and add them to a sandwich. Not much taste (if any) but packed with power! Love it. I dried leaves to powder and put into jell forms for vitamin supplements.I'm so thankful that you did this experiment and I learned how to sprout the few seeds I still have. YEA! Great information.

Mrs. Heart, I used to grow moringa you've done a great job I'm starting them. Here's the thing about moringa tree they don't like their root bulb to be wet they prefer dryer soil. They can dry up in a drought for up to three years then as soon as it rains or they get watered they will start growing again. They can survive in temperatures down to 25° overnight and I've had mine survived down to 18 degrees for just a few hours.

Great video! Next time you germinate moringa, try soaking for 1 day and take a sharp knife and gently cut off a little of the husk, not cutting into the seed, to expose the seed. This will leave a small opening for the sprout to come out.

We have been growing Moringa for years. My wife is from the Philippines. Your seeds need to be no older than two years. Just put the seeds in a damp paper towel and place in a zip lock baggie leaving about a 1/4 " open for air flow. No need to soak them. You should see roots in less than 3 days if seeds are healthy. We then just put them in their final container that is a 15 gallon pot.

I have been growing seeds for eight years. The best way to plant moringa is in the soil. They germinate perfectly in the ground like God intended. The plant gets nutrient right away in soil making it a stronger healthier plant it takes longer but grows faster after germination then putting in water.

The question I had was when is it ok to plant them in the ground and where is the best place? Full sun? Partial? Thank you for sharing what you;'ve learned thus far. My first attempt looked like a green stick.I just tried 2 more. Misted daily as well. Once they germinated, they grew leaves in about a week to two weeks. I let them sit outside one evening thinking 58 degrees is fine...One of them looks a little limp like the the leaves want to curl inward. Just slightly. I quickly put them back indoors under grow lights the way I had them. Thanks for the tips! I may start one more just in case. GA zone 8a,
