Title of video: Shouldn't it read "Person" singular? and "Natures" plural?

The problem with Chalcedon it is makes it sound like Jesus did miracles by his own attributes of deity. But Scripture does not bear this out. The book of John illustrates that Jesus did miracles by the Father dwelling in him in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is why Jesus did no miracles in his childhood, or early adult life. It was after the Holy Spirit came upon him that the miracles started. The 2nd person of the Trinity, the Logos, kept his identity when he became a man, so he was divine. Hope that helps.

White misunderstood what the caller was trying to say. He thought the caller was using the terms "nature" and "person" interchangeably, leading into error. That's not what he was saying. He was trying to say that the second Person of the Trinity took on a human body while remaining divine.

@@j.nelson2811 Thomas knew the God of the Bible. This is why he referred to Jesus as "My God" (John 20:28). Every true Christian will do the same. The spirit of the Lord Jesus was and is alive well: BDAG (3rd Edition): pneuma is the part of Christ which, in contrast to flesh, did not pass away in death, but survived as an individual entity after death (pneuma, page 833).

@@IndianaJoe0321 Of course, Matt. 1:18 is as clear as it can get, “Now the birth of Jesus Christ…” birth is the Greek word genesis which literally means origin, beginning, coming into existence.

3:53 So Jesus would be schizophrenic if he was 2 persons? How then is the trinity not schizophrenic?

My understanding would be that the Trinity is not schizophrenic because although they are 3 in person they have only 1 nature (Divine) and are therefore perfectly united as 1 God, whereas Jesus having 2 natures (human & Divine) must be in 1 person otherwise division would occur between the persons, and hence the schitsophrenic comment.

@@aaron3377 “When you say “division would occur between the *persons”* Do you refer to the 3 persons in the trinity? Or do you refer to 2 theoretical persons in Christ? If you mean the persons in the trinity, could you please elaborate why you think The SON only having 1 nature would cause a division in the trinity?

@@aaron3377 I believe in one human in 8 billion persons all 1 in nature the human nature. It is logical ? Jesus is full human that means he has a human body and a human soul, he also was united with the son of god let's say a divine soul, and they didn't mix in one soul, so actually jesus's body had 2 souls which is actually persons, just like when someone get possessed by a demon. Actually both the trinity and the hypostatic union both are completely impossible .......

@@newstart1983 your understanding of the subject seems fairly limited. For a start Jesus was truly man as opposed to fully man. Also, Jesus is God the Son, it's not that he's mixed with the Son of God. I'm not sure what the 8 billion people have got to do with it either. Nothing you have said comes anywhere near close to you being able to draw the conclusion that Christ's hypostatic Union or the Trinity are impossible. I certainly hope you study what the Holy Bible says on this subject and that God graciously saves you from your sins. God bless.

Good comment there on the Theotokos. Precisely, the Marian dogmas in the Early Church are always Christological. Now, to point to this of course it would be important to not the Tome of Leo and the 12 Thesis of Cyril.

Hypostatic union can also be defined as the Theantropic person.

Scripture does not present our Lord with two natures. The Father did his miracles through Jesus. That was what Jesus said. In fact, he could not glorify himself with his own miraculous attributes. But he was deity always in his spiritual identity as the Logos made into a man. Amen? Chalcedon gave us a Jesus who did not know the time of his return in his human nature only! That is Nestorian.

Jesus is one person; a Divine person only, with two natures His Divine nature, which as the Second Divine Person of the Holy Trinity He had from all eternity, and His Human nature, which He took on at the Incarnation. One Divine person, with two natures, one Divine, and the other Human.

The Son of God (John 20:31) is "my God" (John 20:28).

Jesus is called God multiple times in the Gospels, by Paul and Peter, Jesus never once denies this and in fact affirms it in the case of Thomas (Jn 20:28). So Jesus is called God and claims to be God, unless you want to say that He is the same person as the Father, which He clearly is not, then you must be a Trinitarian. (Since the Holy Spirit is also identified as God and yet is clearly distinct from the Father and Son.)

The hypostatic Union means that there are TWO NATURES in ONE DIVINE PERSON. Christ has no human person.

Exactly, which means he was not truly one of us and therefore could not save any of us. Thank you for being honest and consistent but I would urge you to believe in the only true God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

@@j.nelson2811And why if he is the God Man can he not save man? Just because someone said if he did not assume that part of humanity, he did not save that part of humanity doesn’t make it true.
