As an Eagles fan, we are going to have a tough time replacing Jason Kelce when he hangs it up. We have a guy ready to take the role in Cam Jurgens but Jason Kelce as a player and as a leader is irreplaceable, no matter how good of a player Cam ends up becoming. Think of Freddie Freeman leaving the Braves, Matt Olson is really really good in his spot, but there’s only one Freddie Freeman.

I figured you were going to wait on this video until after we had our new coordinators. Anyway, I think you said it well for us, this was a talented roster that was let down big time by rookie coordinators, and yet even with all of that still finished among the higher levels of offense which you probably wouldn't have known without looking stuff up. I am excited to see what Kellen Moore will be able to do with this offense, and hopefully they can get the right pieces on defense (plus maybe a decent veteran WR3) to really get back in it. It helps that there probably won't be quite as much pressure on them this time around now that we're past the post-SB season, and I'm sure some expectations (at least from other fans) have faltered with how horribly things went down the stretch. Which, if that's true, will certainly be a benefit.

That’s called cover 6 and match quarters they are both good at stopping the pass but when you play the quarters this off you’re going to be susceptible in the run game which means you need to have good linebackers and they have to fill and replace the gaps because you’re not gonna have a safety in the box at all. They’re gonna fill the gaps but they’re gonna be like 7 yards away from the play and unfortunately, for Philadelphia, they have the worst linebackers I’ve ever seen play football they need to draft linebackers if they’re going to run this but they also need to draft corners they have a lot of needs on this defense and if I’m going to play Vics style Defense, you need to get better safeties they had slot corner experience that can match and play with zones up the field. Literally a perfect player for this would be Chauncey Gardner Johnson but Obviously that bridge is burned but this defense can’t get got especially against teams that are patient and don’t need a big play and are willing to nickel dime their way down the field

I’m looking forward to next season with new the coordinators. Or actually, next offseason so I can hear all of us screaming “fire the coordinators” again. The birds problems are not simply a product of bad play calling and hiring new coaches so quickly 2 seasons in a row doesn’t provide continuity. B Johnson should’ve done better, recognized where the O struggled more quickly and adapted accordingly; but as a 1st year OC, I might’ve considered giving him a 2nd chance. On D, no coordinator can fix “old and slow;” that mess was all Roseman’s doing and imo he escaped criticism for last season’s mess too easily

What an unrealistically optimistic analysis. First of all, they need to revamp the entire D....a whole side of the ball. Their corners can't cover, their D line can't pressure, their LB group neither is good at stopping the run or covering, and nobody on that D wants to tackle. You can't fix this D in one offseason. Second, Kelce might retire and Lane Johnson is 33. Cam Jurgens is mediocre. Third, what did Kellen More do for the chargers. Absolutely nothing. Their offence was struggling all season long, well before Herbert got injured. To think that Moore is going to all of a sudden take the Eagles to where Steichen had them is unreasonable. If he could, why didn't he do it with the Herbert and the chargers?

Strange assumptions, to say the least: - No running back (i.e. Swift) is truly irreplaceable? Go ask SF, Detroit or KC if they're ready to trade McCaffrey, Gibbs or Pacheco. - Kellen Moore and Fangio will save the day ? Sorry, but Moore didn't impress much in Dallas or L.A., nor did Fangio in Miami. - Trusting a disavowed Sirianni to adjust to a packed NFC with the emergence of Detroit, Green Bay and Tampa is another leap of faith.

I’m a Bucs fan and I wouldn’t worry too much about the “emergence” of them if I’m the Eagles. Todd Bowles is garbage, and we got a bunch of free agents coming up. We have a real chance of losing Evans, Winfield, and Baker. Detroit and Green Bay are real concerns though

I'm at a loss as how you think Kellan Moore and Vic Fangio will salvage this roster. Eagles didn't run the ball enough, Kellan Moore won't fix that. Kellan hasn't shown a disciplinarian attitude this team needs to get back to the super bowl. Eagles don't have the talent at linebacker to run Vic Fangio's defense. Vic himself can't fix that. Sure they have a draft with great picks and $16 million in cap space to fix that, maybe they find a Linebacker that can work, or draft a college safety who can convert to linebacker. But this feels more like a "don't fire me, I have the answer" from Nick Sirianni. Pretty sure Nick gets fired mid-season. We've seen it before from this front office.

@@user-ye1ml8uw8p Yes it _was!!_ Why did Dak throw INTs in the playoff game? Because the play-calling reverted to crap forcing him to play hero-ball. When they call a pass play, Dak can't look, see that everyone's covered then hand it off to an RB. The RB is gone. He has top force a throw somewhere & if he always throws it out of bounds, the haters come out, & every coach becomes Arthur Smith when QBs show them up like that. As for Moore, the play-calling last year sucked on pass plays, but in a uniquely Moore way. Or at least I've _never_ seen McCarthy call plays like that. Play after play every receiver would be sent the Exact Same Amount Of Yards from the QB as if they were on a tether. This allowed defenses to only have to defend a tiny area of the field. If you watch footage of their passing plays last season, this is why Every Receiver had multiple defenders on the pass plays: Moore sent _all_ the receivers the Same Depth! He took over for Joe Lombardi & left Mike McCarthy two _known_ under-achievers of offensive play-calling & the team he went to got worse & the one he left had a QB that was in the MVP discussion late in the season. Of _course_ his play-calling is a factor.
