@@jeciel85 you'd blame it on the airline? Clearly, you have no idea how airline industry works. Have you even considered looking into the poor airport facility Cebu Pacific had to make do. Also, number of flights per day vs Pal is almost double. Certainly the ratio for delays would be more. But that doesnt mean it's worse. Try flying in the US, the ratio of delays is more.

Cebpac has the best value for money in terms of our local airlines. We always use them kahit minsan may some delays, we save A LOT over the years. Will never choose PAL over cebpac if given the choice in route.

I have flown with Cebu to and from Philippines and Australia .I have found Cebu very good in ALL flights in the air very professional. I've retired and flown with other airlines in Australia and America. But have found Cebu to be o e of the best if not THE BEST . So keep up the good work CEBU .

@@jordanthedoge535 I havent flown with Cebu Airlines as Philippinos in Cebu have told me not to rely on them, their own carrier and they dont even trust it. When you have to rely on punctuation and times you cant afford to take risks that could end up costing you money and time. The old saying goes, ask a local, they tend to know more.

Not reliable? Have you looked into the industry this 2022-2023? CebuPac has had more reliable planes that Pal, and even twice the fleet. You can't even compare low cost vs legacy carrier. And yet, 5j doubles it operatations vs Pal. They even pay their people better. Even the best in the country vs its local competition

@Ronnie Solomon well.. then. On a local option.. please do try experiencing every local airline. Delays cant be blamed on any, as they're due to the inadequate size of Manila Airport. For reliability and number of flights I'm pretty sure the low cost carrier is efficient enough in the domestic scene.

Cebu Pacific will be fine in a few years when we hopefully overcame the current global financial crisis. They have a solid costumer base in both domestic and international flights as a low cost carrier. What will survive of PAL after the much needed restructuring will certainly not look the same. They will survive, but not as we know it. And to call PAL a "full service airline" was already a stretch of the imagination before Covid. But since Filipinos see it as their patriotic duty to fly PAL, it'll stay around. Certainly not as a full service airline though, hasn't been that since the early 2000s anyway.

It’s interesting that some Filipinos do see it as a patriotic duty to fly PAL. I was born in the PH but I’ve lived more than half my life in the states, and I always hear from relatives and friends to avoid PAL. They offer “Mabuhay Miles” that I couldn’t care less about. It needs to be part of an airline alliance like Star Alliance (United Airlines, Lufthansa, ANA). Flying to the PH isn’t cheap to begin with. If I’m paying more, I might I as well reap the benefits of alliance partners

@Dr. Koda Meister Haha three things that Filipinos always have strong patriotic feelings about: Any Filipina that is elected Miss Universe, Manny Pacquiao and PAL lol It's those charming little quirks that make the PH fun. What Cebu Pacific offers is fine for a low cost carrier, I can't complain. I could do without the constant delays, but the fault with that lies with NAIA.

The biggest downside of PAL is that since they’re not part of any alliance for code-sharing, connecting flights are awful. This is why I prefer Star Alliance because the miles I get from Lufthansa transfer over to United

@Dr. Koda Meister Yeah, miles are a big issue I have with PAL too. And even when I tried booking Lufthansa with a connecting PAL flight, I was told that they won't check my baggage through onto the PAL flight. Apparently a few years back they didn't even have any kind of agreement with other Airlines. So of course I didn't book PAL, I'm not gonna check all my luggage in again on a transfer.

This video greatly discounts the quality of top level management inside Cebu Pacific as against PAL, and how each owning family treated their airline. Also, PAL really wanted to declare bankruptcy to reset their lease contracts.

Simple explanation is many businesses were hit hard by the pandemic, most especially those in the travel and leisure industry. Most airlines around the world went bankrupt. Agree with you. CebuPac (being a low cost carrier) has less operational costs than PAL (being our flag carrier) which is bigger, has more routes to maintain, more employees, etc.

Cebu Pacific has been my first choice when I fly locally in and around the PI. The crew just seems to enjoy being there. PAL on the other hand is a toss-up. Like a box of chocolates, you’ll never know what you’re gonna get. I hope they both survive.

*I had the worst experience from Cebu Pacific, I was stuck for 10 hours and 30 minutes at NAIAT3 because they failed to organize their schedule. The screen showed delay but they left early before the scheduled time, there were also other passengers who had the same experience I had and they offload our luggage 4 hours later, and we didn't even receive any food or water which is required by law, they didn't even apologize us what so ever.*

You get what you pay for LOL. I always laugh at these horror stories because I've always had a breeze using Cebu Pac. For the cost, I really could not complain. The airline industry in general has produced so many infuriating stories like you have. Maybe people like me are just lucky.

Well, i had great experiences with cebu pacific. When our flight was diverted from davao to gen san just last december due to a bad weather, the pulot kept us updated with every pertinent information. The cabin cre were very polite and reassuring and served us food 😋 which surprised us considering that cebu pac is a low cost airline. We thought that it would be just water and crackers but its more than that. Almost 3hours later upon reaching davao, we were again given 2 packs of crackers and a bottle of water which is very impressive for me. I have flown pal and have also experienced long delays and not being served snacks. My expectations with pal is quite high tho but not with cebu pac as the latter claimed to be a low cost airline and the former to be a full service airline. I am not complaining here but just stating the fact that not any of our local airlines including air asia is not a perfect airline. A full service airline should be a lot better than a low cost airline. Maybe (tho debatable), pal is a little better airline, domestically speaking.

That's more of an issue with NAIA in general though, i never had a flight leaving on schedule, no matter what Airline (And i tried many like PAL, Cebu Pacific, Turkish, Emirates, Singapore, Oman etc.). The worst was "only" 3 hours delay on my Turkish flight though. But you're not wrong, Cebu Pacific are usually at least 1 hour delayed.

In 2017 I flew Cebu Pacific very often 10 times domestically and internationally. All International went smoothly without any problems. Almost every domestic flight was a big gamble whether the flight was on time or delayed. Most of the problem was caused by NAIA which is the worst airport in SEA. I like Cebu Pacific because the price is sometimes a fraction of PAL.

Did you know that Cebu Pacific changed the air travel in the Philippines, and because of Cebu Pacific all Filipinos (Juan) have a chance to fly. Back then, Ferries were the most practical and economical option to travel inter-island. And it was also the period when thousands and thousands of Filipinos who could not afford to travel by air with PAL died every year in sea tragedies. And one of the worst sea tragedies was on December 20, 1987, the MV Doña Paz, a passenger ferry bound for Manila, collided with an oil tanker carrying 9,000 barrels of combustible petroleum products, sinking the ferry and resulting in more than 4,300 fatalities and only 24 survivors in one of the world's deadliest maritime disasters in history, killing more people than the Titanic disaster that killed more than 1,500 people. My parents, uncles and aunties told me that they couldn't afford to fly back then, they couldn't afford to travel by air when Philippines Airlines (PAL) dominated the market during the 1970s and 1980s. As it was the sole domestic airline, Philippine Airlines (PAL) was virtually monopolizing the country's aviation industry. 1974 - PAL continues to dominate the industry by having the monopoly on domestic travels. Air travel was a luxury. Flying was very expensive, PAL's ticket from Cebu to Manila was more or less 6K and during 70's, 80's and 90's it was too much, the PAL base airfare in 1980's or 1990's cost 6K or 20K in today's peso. It was very horrible; it was very awful; they could not afford the air fare; it was ridiculously expensive. Flying during those days was a luxury, and the flight attendants were unfriendly and unapproachable; they thought too highly of themselves, being overweening and overbearing, especially to the Overseas Filipino Workers. Fortunately, when Cebu Pacific started flying, everything changed. Air travel became very accessible, available, friendly, fun, and affordable, and all Filipinos can now fly to their favorite domestic and international destinations with high quality and friendly service at an affordable price. Crbu Pacific is better professionally managed by lance gokongwei. Frugal , efficient , effective management. They are southwest equivalent. No frills airlines . not even luggage and snacks.

Airline size is not determined by fleet size exclusively. Other factors include things stated in the video such as Assets. PAL also operates more international flights making it a better flag carrier as Cebu does not offer flights to the EU and the US unlike PAL that offers flights to both.

Pal has more fleet than Cebu Pac. PAL's fleet consist of Narrow body and 20 widebody planes. Overall it has 45 aircraft. PAL express, PAL's subsidiary has 27 aircraft. Overall PAL has 72 planes. Cebu Pacific on the other hand has 68 aircraft in its fleet including those propeller aircraft of Ceb go. Only 7 of those aircraft are widebody.

Back then PAL had issues with labor unions, something that I haven't heard of with Cebu Pac. I could be uninformed but maybe PAL 's net is very negatively affected by this overhead.

On the other hand, labor unions have been heavily dominated by the communists so as to cause unrest and the eventual failure of a country, then the subsequent revolution and restructure of government. Legitimate causes are and have been hijacked to achieve this.

Cebu Pacific is TRASH! I purchased a ticket and didn't get my e-ticket for an ENTIRE WEEK! I had to buy a new one and only a day before my flight did they send me my ticket and receipt. 1/5 stars

Flights to Thailand? They got you covered, mate. Cebu Pacific and PAL both fly the Manila - Bangkok route about 10 times daily, for about 6k to 12k peso.
