removing Tyr was an insurmountable mistake. The show immediately drops in quality and dynamic in season 4.

They made a huge mistake by removing Tyr from the series.

Their 1st mistake was not making Tyr the main focus of the show. Their 2nd was not realizing it after the 2nd season.

Casanova Frankenstein I agree Tyr was performed perfectly the first two seasons and stole the show from Sorbo which was why he was removed.

It’s a shame he was blacklisted or he would’ve had starred in his own show.

Didnt Tyr leave the show himself? Sorbo was the star of the show and everyone else didnt leave so hoe bad could it be? I think the balance between dylan and tyr was good. Tyr leaving at the end of season 3 was tragic, wish he had come back as a regular in season 4 and 5.
@reginaldtyroneshort4 жыл бұрын
SuperKing604 Keith Hamilton Cobb was a better actor and more than a 1 dimensional character making him outshine the Star. Keith left because of the way the show was going to present his character.

He was one of the most dynamic characters I n sci-fi I had seen around that time. His character is the only reason I still watch the show even today. And KHC is actually a great guy in person! He rally brought some depth, and GREAT acting to the character. He was also one of the best Nietzscheans in the series. He knew how to convey the whole warrior/philosopher ethos the race of people. He made being smart and strong cool!

On prisons: BEKA: That's a lot of jails. TYR: A lot of worlds, a lot of trash. HARPER: I never got the whole prison thing. Hey, you have the potential to be a nasty piece of work. Why don't we lock you up with a serious bunch of hard cases and get you really good at it. TYR: They're sociopaths. It makes sense to remove them from the gene pool.

The Ironic thing about the epiphany is that Nietzsche had a similar concept in his own ideas of Will to Power and Eternal Return. Tyr as a Nietzschean likely knows that but chose to not show his hand, rather he made himself look the brute. Very smart.
@ws62064 жыл бұрын
Can you expand more on this?
@Mister-Thirteen4 жыл бұрын
@@ws6206 Nietzsche's eternal return is the principle that just as will to power is the motive behind all action the eternal return is the continuous trial that births life-affirming principles that overcomes nihilism resulting from a post-truth era. And in Nietzsche's view all art is merely an expression of the will to power. We are individual expressions of the Will to power and that desire to create is the motive behind all actions. Though, this is assuming Roddenberry actually understood this as his strawman of Nietzsche in the show is obvious in its biased nature.

Gene Roddenberry had barely anything to do with the Nietzscheans, or anything else in the show for that matter. The only part of the show that came from his original ideas is the main character being called “Dylan Hunt” and him having come from an earlier time, and the idea of genetically engineered enemies. Everything else was new. Even the space setting is new, Roddenberry’s original script was set on a post apocalyptic earth. Essentially the use of the Roddenberry name was a marketing gimmick.

Andromeda... Hasn't aged well. It looks terribly cheap and cheesy, the plotline borders somehow somewhere on the childishly simple and completely incomprehensible, and sadly it's lead star turned out to be a complete piece of shit... But Tyr Anasazi is fucking magnificent for 3 whole seasons.
