I'm In A Vegetative State Gaming no, the German Officer was just another man, lost and in a war started and manipulated by the 'Elite' of this Earth. Humans dont have to fight each other and if they were not forced to fight each other, 99% of us would be grateful.

Since the beginning of time there has been a great evil manipulating us each and every way, making us a slave to money and opiates, trying to keep us asleep now because we are starting to wake up to this bullshit system of money and government Worldwide. Think about it, if people just did what they love to do for the benefit of all life on this Earth without any money involved or even existing, Power would shift into the hands of its Rightful owner, and they do not want that. They want us to be slaves, while they manipulate the gold and silver markets to increase their already unimaginable wealth, without a care for maybe even their own mother. These people, and those not of this world who guide them, need to be killed and hung from the tallest building in Saudi Arabia. People need to start standing and waking up.

They are the soldiers of the 1st army of the People's Army of Poland - a Soviet organized Polish unit. While it is certain that the Soviets did by far the most of the fighting on the Eastern front as a whole, the Polish People's Army did take part in encircling and capturing Warsaw. You can tell them by their uniforms - modified 1939 Polish uniforms (note particularly the distinctly Polish diamond-shaped hats).

Fought in North Africa (Tobruk for exa,Olę) and Italy ( They took Monte Cassino), Poles liberated part of France, almost whole Belgium and big part ofNetherlands. They took north western part of germany with main base of kriegsmarine in Wilhelmshaven. Poles were 3rd in numbers wester allies. Just after USA and United Kingdom. Poles cracked Enigma, invented rotary tank oeriscope, mine detector and walkie talkie. Learn some history you idiot.

@@zepter00 Sure, but it was Poles from Berling's army who cleared Poland proper and put their flag above Berlin. The same army that is now branded as communist collaborators and generally crapped on in modern Polish historical narrative. Which is why Polish flag over Berlin can now be pretty much forgotten. You can't brand Berling's men "collaborators" and "Russia's errand-boys" while admiring yourselves for taking Berlin. That's like sitting on two chairs with one arse. But then again, that would hardly be something new, would it.

In the book Szpilman described how, just after the scene shown in the clip, he insisted on kissing the Polish officer who almost shot him since he happened to be the first Pole within reach upon liberation - somethin he swore he would do way back when he was in hiding. The officer politely tried to dissuade him, but eventually relented, and once the deed was done produced a pocket mirror allowing Szpilman to finally see how terribly he looked and added empathically with a smile "Now see how you look and then judge my patriotism". The soldiers are presented less favorably in the film.

After a movie full of tension, depression, anger, this scene made the whole class break out in laughter, but after one second of laughing, it quickly turned to tears. Every time I am so proud to have Polish blood - and I would fight to the death for Poland!
@SaithMasu12
@SaithMasu12 4 жыл бұрын
To fight to death for a country is stupid my man. Consider this: You were born in a specific part of the world and because it so randomly happend that you grew up in Poland, makes you think that being that nationality over any other holds some greater meaning. The fact is, you could as well been born somewhere else and then you would claim said country as well as something greater, something worth fighting for. That mentality splits nations and humans apart. We are all humans and we better not treat ourselfs as enemies if we ever want to stop bloodshet. Sincerly, a german citizen
