People don't remember her as the first female champion. Nor just for her Garchmop. They remember her for how she strikes fear in your heart... Then her garchomp scrubs the floor with you.

The fact that the theme that plays before you even fight can instill so much terror is the sign of how great a champion Cynthia was.

So many pokemon died here. So much blood on those claws... That woman and that beast... Those notes that still send shivers down the spines of grown men. And yet the best champion of the entire franchise.

People, especially nowadays with simulators and all cheats available, tends to underestimate her. At d/p times, knowledge about nature, iv and ev training was lacking. On top of that on your first run you hardly have a balanced team, especially in a era when internet wasn't still very popular so you had no idea which pokémon were good and so on. Then you meet this nightmare. Not only she has 6 perfectly trained pokémon in terms of stats, they are all top tier pokémon, not just some random junk, she knows how to fucking use them and her team was perfectly balanced and had a response for almost everything. She was the champion

They probably haven't made a gen4 remake because they can't get anyone to agree to play this on a piano (update: they made it)

I personally feel like she is my favorite champion. I’ve always grown up with Hoenn, I’ve played Kanto, Kalos, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Galar, and Cynthia so far has just been so amazing because she shows up through your whole story as a mysterious person who just kinda arrives when needed and leaves when the job is done, she’s like this ghost, and it feels like the whole game is buildup to her, you don’t just start when you get in this room, you’re waiting to fight her from the moment you see her and wonder, who is she? What is she doing here? Why and how is she helping, WHAT is her significance? And then she just crashes down on you like the Garchomp crashed down on my unassuming fairy type with Swords Dance Poison Jab

No joke, would love an animated film on Cynthia and how she came to be the Champion of the Sinnoh region. What her motivations are, what she used to be when she was young, if she actually aspired to become the very best or something happened which turned her into the *BEAST* that she turned out to be. Also, because we need origin stories for the true Champions of the Pokemon world, unlike a certain someone who's name is reminiscent of burnt dust.

I had a garchomp in my diamond and pearl run through and it was so OP and I thought it was absolutley unstoppable. Then, I made it all the way through the elite 4, and made it to cynthia. Right after almost losing 2 mons to her spiritomb we both switch to garchomp. Out her garchomp comes, almost 12 levels above mine and in that moment I realize how fucked I am.

If this isn't playing at my funeral I'm not dying.

Thing we remember about Cynthia. 1. Her battles are really a madness! (My cousin leasted various day until he finally beated her) 2. The piano theme. (Sounds more like a villain theme song) 3. HER GARCHOMP!!!! (I also have one in Pokémon Scarlet)

I honestly wish THIS was her battle theme. Or rather more exactly, that this starts playing just as it does normally, but never stops, but just continues throughout the whole battle. This theme is far more unique and intimidating than her actual battle theme (IMO)

walking into the last room, and hearing this play is absolutely terrifying. And then walking into a random, unassuming house next gen, and hearing it play again is more terrifying. And then, many gens later, hearing it again in the final battle, is just pure terror

Remember doing a randomised Nuzlocke and she still pummelled me. Shows that it's not her team that is strong, it is Cynthia herself, the slayer of Gods.
