This regiment was known as the Royal Highlanders of Canada during the Great War, they saw action in every offensive Canada took part in, from the 2nd battle of Ypre in 1915 to the dying days of the war in 1918. I portray a man from this era, it's poignant to hear some of the same tunes those men heard being played by the regiment that proceed them.

My husband was a Guardsman. My mornings were blessed with the sound of the Pipes and Drums each Spring as they prepared for the Opening of Parliament ....the sound wafting down across the field from the Parade Square felt to good in my head and my heart. That was over fifty years ago but it is still as beautiful as the first time.
