Marola, Cadimare, Fezzano, and Le Grazie, are four villages aligned along the western coast of the Gulf of La Spezia, also known as "the Gulf of Poets", between the city of La Spezia and the renowned Porto Venere.
They are less famous than others in the gulf, but no less suggestive for this.
Here the relaxed lifestyle of the seaside villages of the past has been better preserved and the sincere passion for the sea is still very much alive.
These places, which in the distant past were the subject of bloody Saracen raids, have for centuries been land of wives of divers and sailors, tenacious women who, thanks to their great energy and strength of character, had to make up for the absence of their husbands every time the sea called them to itself.
And still today, women are often the protagonists of this strip of Liguria.
