Somehow I keep imagining Watson saying all of this to Sherlock, after all it was Sherlock's childhood dream to be a pirate. ;D

I love that he is still acting even though he is just doing the voice. Its very professional. I hate watching actors who are just reading from a script while recording for animated characters.

He has more facial expression and movement than his animated counterpart. Makes him more interesting to watch.

Unquestionably my favourite pirate. Martin Freeman is genuinely awesome. I noticed they animated his head shake into the 'arr' speech. I love it when they do that :)

That would be the take they actually used in the film - David Tennant described the recording process: They came in about every 3 months for a recording session of the scenes that were coming up next, and then they might do 20 takes with every line to give the animators a wide breadth of inflection and mood to choose from. So I assume they got sent the script for the next part of the recording shortly before their scheduled session, just to familiarize themselves with what's going on.

i think they have read the script before this recording, but i also think it is part of being a actor that you form your own way of movement that belongs with your caracter. and even if it is just voice you act it out.

Martin Freeman, the voice of reason and the down to earth character who makes the "lead" erratic characters (Pirate Captain or Sherlock) more believeable! Best thing in the Pirate movie was Martin's lines!

He's wearing his bathrobe! He must be getting comfy in that recording booth. What time in the morning is it? Perhaps he just came over from recording a scene in Sherlock where he was wearing his bathrobe? It's just kind of interesting to me, that's all. And Martin Freeman definitely has a more interesting face than his claymation counterpart. I guess they couldn't model it more after him.
