Another place Peppermint worked was a tiny gar bar near the Port Authority called Dorothy's. We were often the only patrons there before 11pm, when she would roll in with her iPod to "dj". The venue was an old deli, the bathroom was the former meat locker, there was a sketchy underground storage space that apparently was popular late night, there was no HVAC system so we'd huddle around a space heater at the bar, and we eventually found out they had no liquor license. As Cindy Adams says, "only in New York, kids, only in New York." Also loved Peppermint in the creative Go-Go's jukebox musical "Head Over Heals" on Broadway.
