Back in the 1950's, my father used to create neon signs. Thank you for the memories... It's not easy.

All 3 Neon signs came out great. Thank you for the tour of the Neon Shop which is a dying trade these days glad he is keeping them going. My brother in law had a Sign Shop in NYC and his signs were seen around the world he made the Numbers on top of time square that you see every New Years 2024. His shop has been making them for the past 10 years.

Hey Pete, I’ve really enjoyed seeing your creative sign ideas come to life in beautiful neon. Years ago, when my brother started his business, I had a custom “motion-neon” sign created for his grand opening. He’s in the auto repair industry, and the lighted sign I gifted to him is of a mechanic popping open the hood of a smoking car. The sign became so very popular in the area that his customers always insist on taking photos in front of it, and believe it or not, it’s been featured on a “Best Of…” list in the city, leading to a positive increase in his business. Generally, people hate auto mechanics and stereotypically assume that they’re going to get ripped off when having their car repaired, but having this novel-looking sign out front has been a goodwill gesture to the community, and he’s earned a lot of praise for it… So I was glad it’s helped his business flourish for the past 19 years, same location.

Peter, I love how you're in such a hard and cut-throat industry, but you're always so enthusiastic and spreading positive vibes. It really shows what a great person you are, and I personally think you're such an awesome person and I love your channel. I'm always blown away at the look of an old-school neon sign. I remember a lot of them from my childhood, slowly disappearing and being replaced with modern stuff. It was a depressing time in 1985 to see this happened.

In another life I’d love to pay this guy to apprentice under him and learn the trade. Really awesome

I like all of your Sign Collection but I like the Simplistic Design of the Walgreens Sign the best it really makes the Sign Pop!. When I was a boy my big sister dated a Neon Artist, he taught me how to blow and bend glass but then they ended their relationship and I never saw Tony again. Neon its getting to be a Lost Art but hopefully one of your younger viewers will be so thrilled with what they saw here that they'll take up the Art of Neon for Future Generations to enjoy too. I also worked in a Pawn Shop and your videos reminds me of all the Fun Times I had at Traders Pawn in 1979

I am excited that you went there. When I saw your video back at the beginning of January I called your shop right up and you were busy Peter. You in that video were not sure where to get neons repaired and I talk to I think Ryan and told him to let you know about this place and sent you email. Looks like you indeed checked it out. First time I went there I was amazed.

I love the old neon signs. My son-in-law had a neon shop and I loved seeing the finished product after these old signs were repaired. Unfortunately it is a dying art that in my opinion should still be totally alive. It’s so beautiful to see an old neon sign being brought back to life. Those mass produced imported signs do not hold a candle to true art and individuality. An Iowa fan here.

I love the signs, I am the owner of a vintage Grolsch neon and love it! The Candy Rolls (Walgreens) sign is my favorite, definitely has a really nice vintage look to it.

I was thinking of making some steampunk lamps, and the same day I got the idea YOU posted the video of the same idea! LOL! Awesome signs you have, too! Maybe signs from the 1990’s mounted on wood or metal would look good back-lit. The old stuff looks better with neon exposed in the foreground. Just my opinion.

I think the Walgreens sign far and away came out the best. The neon looks like it was part of the original design and it enhances the sign and the colors blended perfectly. Fantastic!!! The other two, in my opinion, looked like neon on top of a sign as an afterthought. I wasn’t much impressed by them. The Packers was ok but the sign was so faded and muted that the neon didn’t really blend well. It didn’t light it up. Again it looked like an afterthought. A strip of neon put on top of an old faded sign. Just my opinion. But I would definitely buy the Walgreens sign if I was local.

I think it's a smart idea Pete, you'll appeal to a much broader demographic this way. Sign guys, subject matter guy's, neon guys, art guy's, vintage guys, etc. Neon seems to be making a big comeback and you can tell with how much business this guy's doing.

I was born in the late 60s ,I always loved neon, so sad to see it gone in the cities to be replaced by pixels. I also had an old Miller sign in the 70s when I was 10 , we owned a deli ) even tho it shocked me every once in awhile. Wish I still had it
