@@Skkyyyyyyyyyyy dude no its not. Its always good to know ur waypoints around the sonic world. Thats just a lazy thing to say. And considerably lowers the speed of ur workflow what is not very good if ur earning money with music. Things like 100cents=1 semi, G to A# keys are good for sub heavy music(g especially). Good to know ur way around frequencies and where to tweek them or mud or harshness or boominess usually are, that delay and reverb qrt note time is bpm devided by 60000 etc...ears are good but dont rely only on them and vise versa)have a great day man

Do vsts also need a specific input lvl? Or they dont emulate that aspect? And how much is it usually?the ballpark?(like 0 on vu calibated to -17 or smth etc)thx

Huy guys, clearly the plug in is substantially more affordable then the hardware. I’ve heard the comparisons online and it seems like the hardware is quite a bit more effective and noticeable but the way these guys speak on this video it seems a waste of money to purchase the hardware? What are your thoughts?

The hardware is $3000. The plugin is like $250. The plugin gets you 95% of the way there. Obviously the hardware is going to blow away the plugin. I can’t name many plugins that are better than the hardware. If you want the same vibe??! Then reach for plugins that emulate things. If you want the same sound, save your pennies and buy the hardware.

God dammit, I hate that this thing actually works... I bought it to fix a mix I was having trouble with, and now I have to go back and put it on all of them to even the whole album out.

Because he's an actual engineer of audio, in the original sense of the term. The title of "audio engineer" has been diluted over the years to mean something more casual, but back in the day the only people with that title were formally educated audio scientists, which is what he is.
